Installation Instructions
Step 1: Attach Mudflap to Running Board
Secure the Britetread Mudflap (B) to the Britetread Running Board (A) using 1/4 x 3/4" Hex Head Bolts (E), 1/4" Flat Washers (F), and 1/4" Hex Nuts (G). Tighten into place using a 7/16" wrench or socket.
Place the Bulb-Seal Gasket (Q) onto the backlip of the Britetread Running Board (A) and trim flush with the Britetread Mudflap (B) and the end of the Britetread Running Board (A).
Diagram shows fasteners (E, F, G) connecting mudflap (B) to running board (A). Gasket (Q) is shown being applied to the running board.
Step 2: Install U-Clips
Locate the existing holes in the vehicle's rocker panel as shown. Place an 8mm U-Clip (P) onto the holes and press firmly into place.
Diagram shows a vehicle side view with approximate hole locations on the rocker panel. Close-up views show 8mm U-clips (P) being inserted into the vehicle's rocker panel holes.
Step 3: Attach Rocker Panel Bracket
Using the drawing as a guide, identify the Rocker Panel Bracket (C) and its correct position on the vehicle. Note: The open face of the Rocker Panel Bracket (C) will face the rear of the vehicle on the driver's side. On the passenger's side, the open face will face the front of the vehicle.
Align the top hole of the Rocker Panel Bracket (C) with an 8mm U-Clip (P) and secure into place using an 8mm x 30mm Hex Head Bolt (N) and a 5/16" Flat Washer (J).
Now, secure the bottom hole of the Rocker Panel Bracket (C) to the hole in the bottom of the vehicle's rocker panel using an 8mm x 30mm Hex Head Bolt (N), a 5/16" Flat Washer (J), and an 8mm Flange Nut (O). Leave fasteners loose for later adjustment.
Diagram shows Rocker Panel Bracket (C) being attached to the vehicle rocker panel using U-Clip (P), bolts (N), washers (J), and nut (O). A 1/2" wrench or socket is indicated.
Step 4: Attach Running Board Bracket to Rocker Panel Bracket
Using the drawing as a guide, place the Running Board Bracket (D) onto the Rocker Panel Bracket (C). Secure the rear-top hole in the Running Board Bracket (D) to the hole in the Rocker Panel Bracket (C) using a 3/8 x 1" Hex Head Bolt (I), a 5/16" Flat Washer (J), a 3/8" Lock Washer (L), and a 3/8" Hex Nut (K).
Diagram shows Running Board Bracket (D) being attached to Rocker Panel Bracket (C) with fasteners (I, J, L, K). Correct hole locations are indicated.
Step 5: Secure Running Board Bracket
Rotate the Running Board Bracket (D) to the upright position and secure it into place using a 3/8 x 1" Hex Head Bolt (I), a 3/8" Lock Washer (L), a 5/16" Flat Washer (J), and a 3/8" Hex Nut (K) as shown.
Diagram shows the Running Board Bracket (D) being rotated to an upright position and secured with fasteners (I, J, L, K). A 9/16" and 7/16" wrench or socket is indicated.
Step 6: Mount Running Board
Place the Britetread Running Board (A) onto the Running Board Brackets (D) as shown. Slide the Britetread Running Board (A) up to the rocker panel so that it is flush with the vehicle's rocker panel.
Diagrams show the Britetread Running Board (A) being placed onto the Running Board Brackets (D). A side view illustrates the assembly, showing the Britetread Running Board flush with the Vehicle Rocker Panel.
Step 7: Secure Running Board to Bracket
Using the bottom holes in the Running Board Bracket (D) as a guide, drill 1/4" holes through the Britetread Running Board (A). Secure the Running Board Bracket (D) to the Britetread Running Board (A) using 1/4 x 1" Ribneck Carriage Head Bolts (H), 1/4" Flat Washers (F), and 1/4" Hex Nuts (G). Tighten into place using a 7/16" wrench or socket.
Diagrams show drilling 1/4" holes in the Britetread Running Board (A) and then attaching the Running Board Bracket (D) using fasteners (H, F, G). A 1/4" drillbit and a 7/16" wrench or socket are indicated.
Step 8: Attach Mudflap to Wheel Well
Drill two holes through the Britetread Mudflap (B) and the sheet metal of the vehicle wheel well opening. Secure the Britetread Mudflap (B) to the vehicle wheel well opening using 1/4 x 1" Sheet Metal Screws (M). Tighten into place using a 3/8" wrench or socket.
Diagrams show drilling holes in the Britetread Mudflap (B) and then attaching it to the vehicle's wheel well opening using 1/4 x 1" Sheet Metal Screws (M). A 3/16" drillbit and a 3/8" wrench or socket are indicated.
