- 9. Straight Line Distance / Slope Angle: Displays the direct distance or the calculated slope angle.
Power & Measurement
To measure distance:
- Press the power button to enable the display.
- Aim the crosshair at the target and press the power button again to start measuring.
- The straight line distance will be displayed.
- The slope-adjusted distance will also be displayed.
The device automatically powers off if no button is pressed for 10 seconds.
Magic Slope
The Magic Slope function considers the altitude of the target point to provide the best club recommendation. It is developed based on ballistics, offering higher accuracy compared to existing rangefinders. The display shows both the Magic Slope Correction Distance and the Actual Straight Distance.
Example: For an uphill gradient of 5.2 degrees, the Magic Slope provides a corrected distance.
A visual comparison shows the ballistics trajectories for CaddyTalk and other generic products, highlighting CaddyTalk's superior accuracy.
E-Slope
E-Slope integrates the Magic Slope function and calculates environmental factors such as temperature, altitude, and humidity to deliver the most accurate measurement. High-level golf courses, for instance, may require adjustments due to lower air pressure.
Example: For a measured distance of 127M:
- At 200m above sea level, the recommended distance is 126M.
- At 1,000m above sea level, the recommended distance is 121M.
Caddy Mode
CaddyTalk's patented technology allows you to easily select the right club by measuring the distance from the golf ball to the target (in the cart or gallery area) and providing the recommended distance.
How to use Caddy Mode:
- With the power on, press the mode button once to activate Caddy Mode.
- When the left golf ball icon flashes, aim at the golf ball.
- When the right flag icon flashes, aim at the target (pin).
- View the recommended distance, which indicates the current slope from the golf ball's location to the target.
The process involves measuring the distance to the golf ball, then to the target (pin), and finally displaying the slope-adjusted distance.
Guidelines for Using Caddy Mode
The Caddy Mode function uses a gyroscope sensor. The sensor's origin may be distorted by environmental factors like magnetic fields or temperature. If there's a significant difference in measured distances, reset the sensor.
How to reset the sensor:
- Power off the device.
- Hold the power button and the mode button simultaneously for 3 seconds.
- When the "SET" sign appears, place the product on a flat floor.
- Once the setting is complete, the "SET" sign will change to "OK".
If "NG" is displayed, repeat the reset steps.
Pin Finder
Hold the measurement button while scanning the viewfinder left and right. Only the distance to the nearest target within the scanned area is displayed.
JOLT
When the correct distance is displayed after pressing the measurement button, the completion of the measurement is notified via vibration alert. This function does not work with a low battery level.
Measurement Unit Setting
- Power on the device.
- Press the MODE button twice to switch between Meters (M) and Yards (Yd).
Slope Mode
The CaddyTalk CUBE offers different slope modes:
- E-Slope: Calculates environmental factors for accurate measurements.
- M-Slope: Standard slope adjustment.
- Non-slope (Pro): Disables slope calculation for professional play.
To enter Setup mode: Hold the MODE button on the bottom for 2 seconds.
To alternate between slope functions: Press the POWER button.
To turn off Setup mode: Press and hold for 2 seconds.
Brightness Adjustment
To adjust the viewfinder brightness:
- Turn on the power.
- Press the mode button for 2 seconds to activate Setup mode.
- Press the mode button once more to adjust brightness.
- Use the power button to select brightness from Level 1 (night) to Level 3 (daytime).
- Press and hold the mode button for 2 seconds to turn off Setup Mode.
Brightness can be adjusted according to the environment.
Side Panel LCD Display
The external LCD on the right side of the product displays SLOPE MODE, Target Distance, and CADDY MODE. It also shows the charging level when charging.
The available slope modes are E-Slope, M-Slope, and Non-Slope. When Caddy Mode is activated, the corresponding slope mode applies.
The Caddy Mode options are E Slope CADDY MODE, M Slope CADDY MODE, and Straight Distance CADDY MODE.
Battery Level / Charging
The JOLT function is deactivated if the battery level is less than 20%. A low battery mark indicates this status.
To charge the device:
- Open the protection cover.
- Plug in the charging cable (USB-C type included) to start charging. A 5V, 2A charger is recommended.
- Avoid using high-speed chargers (over 5V, 2A) as they can cause damage due to overvoltage and overheating.
The charging status is displayed on the device, showing the current battery percentage.
