Setting Up the URC-1625
Follow these instructions carefully before you start.
Direct Code Set Up
This method involves entering a specific code for your device.
- Find the code for your device in the Code list (pages 10-23). Codes are listed by device type and brand name, with the most popular code listed first. Ensure your device is switched on.
- Press the appropriate device key ([tv button] or [sat button]) on the URC-1625 for the device you wish to set up.
- Press and hold the [magic button] until the red LED underneath the selected device key ([tv button] or [sat button]) blinks twice.
- Enter your four-digit device code using the number keys. The red LED will blink twice.
- Aim the URC-1625 at your device and press the [POWER button]. If your device switches off, the URC-1625 is ready.
- Turn your device back on and test all remote functions. If they do not work correctly, repeat steps 1-5 with another code for your brand.
- If your device does not respond after trying all codes for your brand, or if your brand is not listed, use the Search Method described on page 6.
Important Notes:
- For Set Top Boxes other than standard BSkyB DigiBox, use the "sat" button in step 2.
- Televisions may not switch on with the [POWER button]. Try a number key or the [TEXT OFF button] to turn them on.
- Codes can be similar; if one doesn't work, try another from your brand's list.
- CBL and VAC codes can be set up using the "sat" mode.
- Always press the correct device key before operating your device.
Search Method
If direct code setup fails, the Search Method scans through all codes in the remote's memory to find a match.
- Switch on your television and aim the remote at it.
- Press the [tv button] on the URC-1625.
- Press and hold the [magic button] until the red LED underneath the [POWER button] blinks twice.
- Press 9 9 1. The red LED will blink twice.
- Press the [POWER button].
- Aim the remote at your television and repeatedly press the [CH+] button. The remote will send out power signals from its stored codes. This may take up to 150 presses. If you miss a code, use the [CH-] button to go back. Keep the remote pointed at the TV.
- When the television turns off, press the [magic button] to store the code.
Important Notes:
- For Set Top Boxes other than standard BSkyB DigiBox, use the "sat" button in step 2.
- Most televisions do not switch on with the [POWER button]. Try a number key or the [TEXT OFF button] to switch your TV back on.
- To search for other device types, follow the same steps but press the appropriate device key instead of [tv button] in step 2.

This feature allows you to retrieve the currently programmed setup code.
- Press the [tv button] once.
- Press and hold the [magic button] until the red LED underneath the [POWER button] blinks twice.
