Easy to Use
The TG588v v2 is designed for ease of use and installation, featuring accessible LEDs for status indication. Multiple integrated web pages provide direct access to settings and information, including privacy and security.
Media Sharing
The TG588v v2 functions as a DLNA 1.5 Digital Media Server, enabling content distribution across the home network. It supports streaming of music, data, pictures, and video from the gateway to connected devices. USB hard disk drives can be hot-plugged for simple plug-and-play media access.
Easy to Manage
The TG588v v2 is designed according to TR-069 and TR-098 IGD data models for remote configuration by operators. The TR-181i2 Device:2 data model further enhances remote management capabilities for lifecycle management, diagnostics, and application management.
IPv6 Enabled
The TG588v v2 supports IPv6, preparing for the depletion of IPv4 addresses and addressing security concerns. Technicolor facilitates a smooth transition to IPv6 for customers.
Highest Security
The TG588v v2 features a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall with Network Address & Port Translation (NAPT) and Application Level Gateways (ALGs) for robust network security. Optional advanced parental controls, security audit services, and access logging provide personalized access control based on user profiles and web usage.
The gateway supports advanced wireless security mechanisms like WPA2 and Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). It also enables multiple wireless networks (mSSID) for independent virtual wireless access points and controlled wireless hotspots.
