Battery Safety

PLEASE DISPOSE OF OLD OR DEFECTIVE BATTERIES IN AN ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE WAY AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH YOUR LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS.

BATTERY SAFETY: Clean the battery contacts and device contacts before installation. Remove batteries from equipment not in use for extended periods. Follow the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment. Promptly remove dead batteries. Dispose of used batteries properly. Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended. Do not incinerate batteries. Do not dispose of batteries in fire, as they may explode or leak. Do not mix old and new batteries or types of batteries (alkaline/standard). Do not use rechargeable batteries. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.

Features & Benefits

The AcuRite Humidity Monitor displays current indoor humidity and temperature, along with historical high/low records and trend indicators.

  • 1. Current Humidity: Displays the current indoor humidity level.
  • 2. Humidity Trend Indicator: An arrow icon indicates the direction humidity is trending (rising, falling, or steady).
  • 3. Current Temperature: Displays the current indoor temperature. An arrow icon indicates the direction temperature is trending.
  • 4. High Humidity Record: Shows the highest humidity recorded over the past 24 hours.
  • 5. Low Humidity Record: Shows the lowest humidity recorded over the past 24 hours.
  • 6. Home Comfort Icon: Indicates the current humidity comfort level (Low, OK, or High) relative to temperature, suggesting a DRY, IDEAL, or HUMID environment.
  • 7. High Temperature Record: Shows the highest temperature recorded over the past 24 hours.
  • 8. Low Temperature Record: Shows the lowest temperature recorded over the past 24 hours.

Setup

Install or Replace Batteries

Batteries must be installed for this product to operate. AcuRite recommends high quality alkaline batteries for best performance. Heavy duty or rechargeable batteries are not recommended.

  1. Slide off the battery compartment cover.
  2. Insert 1 x AA battery into the battery compartment, following the polarity (+/-) diagram shown inside the compartment.
  3. Replace the battery cover.

Operation

Select Degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius

To select between degrees Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C) temperature units, press the "[°C/°F button]" located inside the battery compartment.

Placement for Maximum Accuracy

AcuRite product sensors are sensitive to surrounding environmental conditions. Proper placement is critical for accuracy and performance. Place the monitor in a dry area free of dirt and dust. To ensure accurate temperature measurement, place the monitor out of direct sunlight and away from any heat sources or vents.

The monitor includes a magnetic backing for attachment to surfaces like refrigerators.

Using the Humidity Monitor

Home Comfort Icon

Home comfort is determined through relative humidity (RH). Learn more at http://www.acurite.com/humidity-health.

Home Comfort Levels:

  • Low Humidity Level: Humidity is low relative to temperature. Makes for a DRY environment.
  • OK Humidity Level: Humidity is OK relative to temperature. Makes for an IDEAL environment.
  • High Humidity Level: Humidity is high relative to temperature. Makes for a HUMID environment.
High/Low Records

The "HI" and "LOW" temperature and humidity records are automatically cleared every 24 hours. Records reset daily at the time the battery was installed. For example, if the battery was installed at 6:00 PM, high/low records will reset at 6:00 PM daily.
