Features
The AF 50/2.0 Z is an autofocus lens suitable for Z-mount cameras. It features 13 elements in 9 groups, a minimum focus distance of 0.51m-∞, and a noiseless STM focus motor for accurate and smooth focusing.
- 50mm focal length, F2.0 aperture
- 9 groups of 13 optical structures, including 3 ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses and 4 lenses with high refractive index
- Electronic aperture, internal focus mechanism, supports autofocus
- Precision hardened aluminum alloy bayonet
- Quiet STM focus motor, fast and accurate focusing
- Convenient and lightweight
- Supports multiple camera shooting modes and EXIF information transmission
Attaching and Detaching the Lens
To attach the lens
Align the white index mark on the lens barrel with the white index mark on the camera. Insert the lens into the camera mount and rotate it anti-clockwise until it locks. For further details, please refer to your camera's User Manual.
To detach the lens
While holding down the lens release button on the camera, rotate the lens clockwise until it stops, then detach the lens. Please place the back of the lens upward to avoid scratches on the lens surface and electronic contacts.
Lens cap
When the lens is detached, cover it with the provided dust cap. Align the mounting index on the dust cap with the mounting index on the lens, then rotate the cap anti-clockwise until it stops. To remove the cap, rotate it clockwise.
Lens Hood
The lens hood is used to reduce flare or scattering light, and to avoid rain, snow, and dust sticking to the front of the lens.
Attaching the Lens Hood
Align the attaching index mark on the lens hood with the index mark on the lens. Insert the lens hood into the lens mount and rotate it clockwise until it clicks. The stop index on the lens hood should now match the index on the lens.
Detaching the Lens Hood
Rotate the lens hood counter-clockwise until the attaching index is aligned with the index on the lens, then remove the lens hood. The lens hood can also be attached or stored in the opposite direction.
Lens Construction Diagram
The internal optical construction consists of 13 elements arranged in 9 groups. This includes specialized elements such as ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses and lenses with a high refractive index, designed to minimize aberrations and maximize image quality.
MTF Graph
The Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) graph illustrates the lens's performance in terms of contrast and resolution across different spatial frequencies and apertures. The graph plots MTF values (from 0 to 1) against spatial frequency (in lines per millimeter). The table provides specific MTF values for Sagittal (S) and Meridional (M) measurements at 10 and 30 lines per millimeter, at apertures F2 and F8. Higher values indicate better performance.
Safety Notes
- ❗ Do not look at the sun or bright light sources through the lens or camera, as this can impair vision.
- ❗ Do not place the lens in direct sunlight, whether mounted on the camera or not, as it may fuse and cause a fire.
- ❗ Keep the lens away from children to prevent accidents or injury.
- ❗ Do not attempt to disassemble the internal parts of the product yourself, as this may cause damage.
Using Tips
- ? When attaching the lens, be careful to avoid mechanical impact.
- ? When storing the lens, always attach the lens cap.
- ? Please do not store the lens in a very humid place to prevent mildew.
- ? The lens is not water-resistant. Use it carefully when it is raining or near water. Water damage to internal parts or electrical components may be irreparable.
- ? To prevent fogging or condensation from temperature shock (e.g., moving from cold to warm environments), place the lens in an airtight plastic bag or allow it to gradually reach room temperature before use.
Cleaning
- ? Avoid touching the lens contacts with your hands. If the lens becomes dirty, use a blower (like a lens-nosed tiger) to remove dust and then gently wipe with a clean, soft lens cloth.
- ? Do not use organic solvents such as diluents or gasoline to clean the lens.
