Operation at High Altitude
Air density decreases at high altitudes, reducing engine power and generator output by approximately 3.5% for every 1000 feet of elevation. This is a natural trend. High altitudes can also increase emissions, cause hard starting, and lead to spark plug fouling.
Champion Power Equipment offers high altitude carburetor main jets. Contact Customer Support for availability and installation instructions, which are also available on their website. Identify your carburetor model code to select the correct main jet part number.
WARNING: Using an alternative main jet at elevations lower than recommended can damage the engine. Use the standard main jet for lower elevations. Incorrect engine configuration can increase emissions and decrease fuel efficiency.
Overload Operation
The overload indicator light turns on when the rated load is exceeded. The LED will blink, and power to receptacles will be cut. To recover, shut down the engine, wait for the light to turn off, and restart the generator.
