Minelab X-TERRA 305 Metal Detector
Getting Started Guide
Assembly
Follow these steps to put together your X-TERRA 305:
1. Attach Coil to Lower Shaft
Attach the coil to the lower shaft by inserting two rubber washers into the coil's yoke holes. Slide the yoke into the yoke bracket on the lower shaft, ensuring the spring-loaded pin on the shaft is underneath. Insert the plastic bolt through the yoke and bracket, and fasten it without overtightening.
2. Assemble Shafts
Assemble the shafts by loosening the twistlocks counter-clockwise. Press the spring-loaded pin on the lower shaft and slide it into the middle shaft until the pin clicks into an adjustment hole. Attach the middle shaft to the upper shaft similarly. Lock the shaft positions by rotating the twistlocks clockwise.
3. Attach Armrest/Stand
Attach the armrest and stand to the upper shaft. Position the armrest just below your elbow and align its boss with a hole in the shaft. Insert the screw through the stand, upper shaft, and armrest, then tighten carefully. Thread the velcro strap through the armrest slots with the velcro side up, ensuring the end fastens outwards from your arm.
4. Connect Control Box & Coil
Connect the control box and coil. Push the control box onto the end of the handle until it clicks into place. Wrap the coil cable around the lower and middle shafts to take up slack, securing it with the provided velcro tabs. Align and plug the coil connector into the socket on the back of the control box, lightly tightening the retaining ring.
Battery
The X-TERRA 305 uses 4 x AA batteries (not included). Access the battery compartment by sliding the door upwards on the side of the control box. Insert batteries, matching the positive (+) and negative (–) contacts to the diagram inside the compartment. Close the door by sliding it downwards.
Audio
The X-TERRA 305 features an external loudspeaker for use without headphones. Additional audio options are detailed in the full instruction manual.
