Introduction to Solar Sync
The Hunter Solar Sync is an advanced sensor system designed to intelligently adjust your irrigation controller's watering schedule based on real-time local climate conditions. This evapotranspiration (ET) sensor enhances water conservation by tailoring watering to the actual needs of your landscape.
Key Benefits
- Wireless Operation: Offers a long-range wireless connection (up to 800 ft / 243 m line-of-sight) for easy installation without the need for extensive wiring.
- EPA WaterSense Approved: Integrates with compatible Hunter controllers to enable smart watering practices, aligning with EPA guidelines for water efficiency.
- Quick Response®: Provides immediate shut-off of the irrigation system upon detecting rain, without requiring manual calibration.
- Freeze Sensor: Protects your irrigation system by preventing operation when temperatures drop to 37°F (3°C) or below, automatically resuming watering when temperatures rise.
- Maintenance-Free Design: Engineered for durability and long-term performance, offering at least 5 years of operation without the need for battery replacement.
System Overview
The Solar Sync system consists of a sensor and, for wireless models, a receiver. The sensor measures solar radiation and temperature to calculate the daily ET factor, which dictates the amount of water lost by plants. This data is then used by the compatible Hunter controller to adjust watering run times, optimizing efficiency and plant health.
