EIZO Introduces FlexScan® S2100 LCD Monitor

21.3-inch monitor delivers high-end performance for still and moving images

Hakusan, Japan, December 5, 2005 – Eizo Nanao Corporation (“EIZO”) today announced the release of the 21.3" FlexScan S2100 LCD monitor. The S2100 offers professionals in CAD/CAM, DTP, call centers, and offices a large work space, accurate text/color display, and smooth moving image playback.

Two monitors are displayed side-by-side, illustrating landscape and portrait orientations.

Key Specifications and Features

Viewable Image Size: 21.3 inches
Native Resolution: 1600 × 1200
Display Capability: Can display two A4 size documents at full size on screen side-by-side without the need to scroll.
Viewing Angles: Extremely wide 178° horizontal and vertical.
Contrast Ratio: 1000:1
Brightness: 300 cd/m²
Response Time: 8 ms (midtone) with an overdrive circuit for smooth image changes in 3D CAD and video, with no blurring.
Ergonomic Design: Thin bezel design on all sides to help save space. Screen adjustment capabilities include tilt and swivel angles of 40° and 70°, rotation of 90° for portrait mode viewing, and a stand with an 82 mm height adjustment range.
Connectivity: Both D-sub and DVI-I input connectors are included for connectivity with analog and digital graphics boards. A USB 2.0 hub with one upstream and two downstream ports offers high-speed connection with other USB-compliant peripherals.
Color Palette: Boasts a 10-bit look-up table for a color palette of over 1 billion colors, from which 16.77 million are displayed to produce smooth color gradations.
Color Temperature: Adjustable from 4,000 K to 10,000K in 500 K increments in the OSD menu, along with gamma, gain, hue, and saturation.
Brightness Stabilization:
- Drift Correction: EIZO's patented drift correction circuit quickly stabilizes the brightness level after startup or when coming out of power save mode.
- BrightRegulator: A sensor on the front bezel detects ambient brightness and signals the backlight to adjust screen brightness accordingly. In a brightly lit room, it increases brightness; in a dimly lit room, it decreases brightness.
Fine Contrast Function: Offers five imaging modes for comfortable viewing of any type of content: Text, Picture, Custom (for individual user settings), Movie, and sRGB.
Mode Navigation: Navigating between modes is done simply by pressing a button on the front panel.
ScreenManager® Pro for LCD Software: Allows any Fine Contrast mode to be assigned to an application so that when the application is activated, the screen automatically changes to the assigned mode. This software also allows for control of OSD (on-screen display) functions with the mouse or keyboard rather than using the monitor's front bezel buttons. (Note: Software is for Microsoft® Windows® 98SE, Me, 2000, and XP operating systems only and requires a USB cable connection).

Warranty and Compliance

Warranty: EIZO stands behind the workmanship with an industry-leading five-year warranty, valid in every country and territory where EIZO authorized distributors are located.
Warranty Limitations: The usage time is limited to 30,000 hours or less, and the warranty period of the LCD panel and backlight is limited to three years from the date of purchase.

Standards Compliance: The FlexScan S2100 complies with strict standards for office equipment, including TCO'03 (both gray and black cabinets) and TUV Rheinland/Ergonomics.
Eco Products: Carries the EIZO Eco Products 2004 in-house label, signifying internal requirements such as the use of lead-free solder and chrome-free steel plates.

Availability

Market Release: The FlexScan S2100 will begin reaching international markets in January 2006.
