Introduction

The Beurer WL 32 wake-up light provides a gentle and natural awakening. The LED light gradually brightens, simulating a sunrise, allowing your body to slowly adjust to the light conditions and prepare for waking. In addition to the simulated sunrise, you can set an alarm sound, choosing between the radio or a beep, to complement your wake-up experience.

General Safety Precautions

  • The device is intended only for the purpose described in these instructions. The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from improper or careless use.
  • Operate the device only with the provided power adapter and the specified voltage.
  • Before use, inspect the device and accessories for visible damage. If in doubt, do not use the device and contact Customer Service.
  • In case of malfunction, switch off the device immediately and disconnect it from the electrical outlet.
  • Never plug in or unplug the AC adapter with wet hands.
  • Keep packaging material away from children (risk of suffocation).
  • Arrange the adapter cable to prevent tripping hazards.
  • Keep the device, AC adapter, and cable away from water.
  • This product is not a toy. Children should be supervised around the device to ensure they do not play with it.
  • Do not pull on the power cord or the device to disconnect the adapter.
  • Never hold or carry the device by the power cord.
  • Protect the device from impacts, humidity, dirt, extreme temperature fluctuations, and direct sunlight.
  • Do not drop the device.

Battery Handling Safety Precautions

  • Use only the specified battery size and type.
  • Ensure correct polarity when installing batteries; reversed batteries may cause damage.
  • Do not mix battery types (e.g., alkaline with carbon-zinc or rechargeable) or old batteries with new ones. Replace batteries as a set.
  • If batteries are depleted or the device will be unused for a long period, remove them to prevent leakage.
  • Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries; they may overheat and rupture.
  • Do not dispose of batteries in fire; they may explode or leak.
  • Clean battery contacts and device contacts before installation.
  • Remove discharged batteries and dispose/recycle according to applicable laws.
  • Keep batteries away from children and pets. Swallowed batteries can be harmful. Seek immediate medical assistance if a battery is swallowed.

Parts and Controls

To activate snooze or lamp function, press the dome of the lamp downwards.

Front View

The front view shows the device with a central LCD display showing the time (e.g., 12:38), a LED light above the display, and a large dome-shaped button below the display labeled "Zz (snooze)/lamp button".

Side View

The side views show buttons on the left and right sides of the device.

  • Left Side: 1. Up (▲), 2. Volume (radio), 3. Down (▼)
  • Right Side: 4. Alarm 1-2, 5. Sleep function/radio, 6. SET/MEM button

Rear View

The rear view shows the AUX input port, the AC adapter socket, and the speaker grill. An AC adapter and AUX cable are depicted connecting to these ports.

Bottom View

The bottom view shows the Zz (snooze)/lamp button, a reset button (for factory settings), and a compartment for 3x AAA batteries (not included).

LCD Display Indicators

The LCD display shows various indicators:

  1. Radio preset
  2. Light icon
  3. Snooze indicator
  4. Radio on indicator
  5. Alarm 2 radio indicator
  6. Alarm 2 beep indicator
  7. Alarm 1 radio indicator
  8. Alarm 1 beep indicator
  9. PM indicator (for 12-hour format)
  10. Sleep timer indicator

Initial Use

  1. Remove packaging and check all parts are present.
  2. Inspect the device, power adapter, and cord for damage.
  3. Remove the battery compartment cover and insert three "AAA" alkaline batteries (not included), observing polarity markings. Batteries provide power during outages.
  4. Note: The mood lamp function requires the power adapter to be connected; it cannot be used with batteries alone.
  5. Place the device on a flat, stable surface.
  6. Insert the power adapter plug into the rear power jack.
  7. Plug the adapter into a standard 110V AC outlet. The time will appear on the LCD display.
  8. Note: To reset to factory settings, use a pointed object to press the reset button on the underside.

To Set Up

Note: The display returns to normal mode if no button is pressed for 10 seconds.

Setting the Time and Snooze Duration

  1. Press the SET/MEM button; the time will flash. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to set the desired time. (Press and hold ▲/▼ for rapid adjustment).
  2. Confirm the time with SET/MEM; "12 Hr" will flash. Use ▲/▼ to select 12 or 24-hour format. Press SET/MEM to confirm.
  3. "Zz 05" will flash. Use ▲/▼ to select the desired snooze duration (5-60 minutes). Press SET/MEM to confirm and exit.
  4. Note: To view the time in the dark, press the lamp dome for illumination. Press once for dim light, twice for brighter light. Light turns off after approx. 5 seconds (battery power only).

Setting the Alarm

You can set two separate alarms.

  1. To set Alarm 1, press AL 1-2 once. For Alarm 2, press AL 1-2 twice.
  2. The alarm time will flash.
  3. Use ▲/▼ buttons to set the alarm time.
  4. Press SET/MEM to select alarm sound (radio ? or beep ?).
  5. Press AL 1-2 to confirm.

Shutting Off the Alarm

When the alarm sounds, press the AL 1-2 button. The alarm is silenced for the day.

Permanently Deactivating the Alarm

To deactivate Alarm 1, press AL 1-2 once. For Alarm 2, press AL 1-2 twice. Then, press SET/MEM until the note (?) and bell (?) icons disappear next to the alarm number. Press AL 1-2 to confirm.

Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the lamp dome to activate the Zz button and temporarily suspend the sound. The alarm will sound again after the snooze duration elapses. Refer to "Setting the time and the snooze duration" for adjustment.

Sunrise Function

After setting an alarm, you can activate a simulated sunrise where the LED light gradually brightens.

  • Note: This function requires the power adapter.
  • Press and hold the Zz button for about five seconds; "15" will flash.
  • Use ▲/▼ buttons to set the sunrise start time (15 or 30 minutes before the alarm). Set to OFF to disable; the lamp symbol (?) will disappear. Press Zz to confirm.

Lamp Function / Mood Light

The wake-up light can be used as a normal lamp or a color-changing mood light.

  • Note: Mood light works only with the power adapter. It is deactivated during radio or sleep function. If radio is on, turn on light first. With battery power only, white light turns off after 5 seconds.
  • Press Zz for dim LED light.
  • Press Zz again for lamp function (e.g., "L 09" indicates brightness level 9).
  • Use ▲/▼ buttons to set brightness level (0-15).
  • Press Zz again to activate mood light (changes color).
  • Press Zz again to select a specific color.
  • Press Zz again to turn off all light functions.

Listening to the Radio

  1. Uncoil the flexible wire antenna for best reception.
  2. Press the radio button; "ON" flashes, then the frequency displays.
  3. Use ▲/▼ buttons to set the frequency.
  4. Press ▲/▼ buttons to search for a station; it stops when found.
  5. Use the Volume button and ▲/▼ to adjust volume.
  6. Turn off the radio by pressing the lamp dome (Zz button).
  7. Note: Mood light is deactivated when the radio is on.

Storing Radio Stations

You can store up to 10 radio stations.

  1. Press the Sleep Function / Radio button to turn on the radio.
  2. Use ▲/▼ buttons to tune to the desired station.
  3. Press and hold SET/MEM for two seconds; the memory number (e.g., "01") will flash.
  4. Select a memory number using SET/MEM. Press and hold SET/MEM for two seconds to save.

Using Presets

  1. Press the Sleep Function / Radio button to turn on the radio; "ON" flashes, then the preset station displays.
  2. Press SET/MEM repeatedly to select a preset station.

Sleep Function

This function turns off the radio after a set time.

  1. Press the Sleep Function / Radio button twice; "SLEEP" appears and "05" flashes.
  2. Press the Sleep Function / Radio button repeatedly to select the desired minutes (5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, or 90 minutes) before shutoff.
  3. Wait five seconds for the time to display. Press the Sleep Function / Radio button to view remaining time.
  • Notes: To cancel sleep function immediately, press the dome. Mood light is unavailable when sleep function is active.

Using the AUX Input

Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player) via the AUX input.

  1. Insert one end of the AUX cable into the AUX input on the rear of the device.
  2. Insert the other end into your device's headphone jack.
  • Notes: Volume is adjusted on the connected device only. Mood light is unavailable when a cable is connected to the AUX input.

Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING: To prevent electric shock, keep the device away from water and liquids. If liquid enters the casing, dry it completely before reuse.

  • Protect the device from impacts, high humidity, dust, chemicals, extreme temperature fluctuations, and heat sources.
  • Clean with a dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning products.

Troubleshooting

If the time display is incorrect or the device malfunctions, it may be due to electromagnetic interference. Avoid placing the device near computers, routers, or modems. If the problem persists, reset the device to factory settings using the reset button (pointed object needed). If the issue continues, contact Customer Service.

Warranty

Limited Lifetime Warranty For Original Purchaser

The Beurer Wake-up Light, Model WL32, is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for the product's life under normal intended use. This warranty extends only to the original retail purchaser. Beurer will, at its option, repair or replace the product without charge for covered parts. No refunds will be issued. If replacement parts are unavailable, Beurer may substitute products. For warranty service, contact customer service at 1-800-536-0366 or info@beurer.com. Provide a problem description. If covered, you will be asked to mail the product at your expense with proof of purchase, name, address, and phone number. If not covered, a quote for repair/replacement and return shipping will be provided.

This warranty does not cover damage from misuse, abuse, accident, unauthorized accessories, alteration, improper installation, misapplication, lack of reasonable care, unauthorized repairs/modifications, improper power supply use, normal wear, power loss, dropping the product, malfunction due to failure to follow instructions or recommended maintenance, transit damage, theft, neglect, vandalism, or environmental conditions. It is void if used commercially. Beurer's maximum liability is limited to the purchase price paid by the customer, confirmed by proof of purchase.

The warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the country of purchase. Modifications or adaptations to enable operation in another country are not covered.

THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranty duration.

BEURER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of such damages.

Beurer does not authorize anyone to obligate them beyond these terms. This warranty does not cover opened, used, repaired, repackaged, or resold products. Warranties cease immediately for products repaired, replaced, altered, or modified without Beurer's written consent.

This warranty grants specific legal rights, which may vary by state.
