Eaton's Cooper Power series offers advanced 600/900 A deadbreak connector systems designed for robust, deadfront, and fully submersible cable connections in high-voltage underground applications. These systems are engineered for seamless integration with apparatus like transformers and switchgear, and can also serve as versatile solutions for cable splices, junctions, taps, and deadends in distribution feeders.
Adhering to IEEE Std 386™ standards, these connectors ensure high operating flexibility and reliability, offering full interchangeability with existing industry products.
Key Connector Systems
BOL-T Connector System
Ideal for applications where terminations are not frequently operated and do not require a 200 A interface for grounding or arrester provisions. This bolted design is easily installed and interchangeable with other 600/900 A bolted systems.
BT-TAP Connector System
Features a 200 A loadbreak tap, making it suitable for retrofitting existing bolted systems with essential testing, grounding, and overvoltage protection capabilities.
T-OP II Connector System
Combines the advantages of the BT-TAP system with single-person hotstick operability. It is designed for terminations requiring frequent movement or sectionalizing, offering enhanced reliability and operating convenience.
PUSH-OP Connector System
A non-bolted design, essentially a T-OP II termination, optimized for frequent operation. Its probe and finger contact design minimizes wear, allowing for safe, grounded terminator movement and easy one-person hotstick operation. Requires specific apparatus bushings for new installations.
900 A Rating
Eaton achieves a 900 A continuous rating with its Cooper Power series BOL-T™, BT-TAP™, and T-OP™ II systems when paired with coppertop compression connectors and all-copper mating components, ensuring high-performance operation.
