Repair Steps
Step 1: Valve Body Preparation
1. Fix the valve securely.
2. Remove the sleeve or control top from the valve body. This is typically done by carefully separating the upper part from the main valve body.
3. Replace the gaskets. Remove the old gaskets and install the new ones provided in the kit, ensuring correct placement for bronze or stainless steel parts as applicable.

Step 2: Plug and Pin Removal
1. Fix the plug. Ensure the plug component is held firmly.
2. Remove the pin. Carefully extract the pin that secures the plug.

Step 3: Prepare for New Plug and Pin
1. Replace the plug and pin. Install the new plug and pin assembly.
2. Mark the plug. Using a hammer and chisel, mark a cross (X) over the hole on the plug. This marking is crucial to prevent the pin from passing through the plug again once the new pin is fitted.

Step 4: Install New Plug and Pin
1. Fix the plug onto the piston. Secure the plug component onto the piston.
2. Fit the pin. Insert the pin through the unmarked pin hole.

Step 5: Secure the Pin
1. Mark the pin hole. Using a hammer and chisel, mark a cross (X) over the unmarked hole where the pin is inserted. This action secures the pin in place within the plug.

Step 6: Reassemble the Valve
1. Assemble the valve in reverse order. Carefully reassemble all components of the valve following the reverse sequence of disassembly.
