3. Setup

AC Power

The SlimPAR Q12 BT has an auto-ranging power supply (100 to 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz). Refer to the product's back panel label or specifications chart for current requirements.

⚠ Always connect to a protected circuit (circuit breaker or fuse) with appropriate electrical ground to avoid electrocution or fire. To eliminate unnecessary wear and improve lifespan, completely disconnect the product from power during non-use. Never connect to a rheostat (variable resistor) or dimmer circuit, even if it acts as a 0-100% switch.

Fuse Replacement

  1. Wedge a flat-head screwdriver into the fuse holder slot.
  2. Pry the fuse holder out of the housing.
  3. Remove the blown fuse and replace with one of the exact same type and rating.
  4. Insert the fuse holder back in place and reconnect power.

The spare fuse holder is located inside the safety cap. The installed fuse is held by a plastic clip.

⚠ Disconnect the product from the power outlet before replacing the fuse.

Power Linking

The product provides power linking via the Edison outlet on the back. This allows multiple units to be powered from a single source.

Power Linking Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates how to power link multiple SlimPAR Q12 BT products. The "1st Product" connects its power output to the power input of the "2nd Product", which then connects to the "3rd Product", and so on for "Additional Products", forming a daisy chain.

ℹ Up to 11 SlimPAR Q12 BT products can be power linked on 120 VAC, or up to 20 products on 230 VAC.

⚠ The power linking diagram corresponds to the North American version. For other markets, consult the local Chauvet distributor as connectors and requirements may differ.

Mounting

Before mounting, follow the safety recommendations in the Safety Notes section.

Orientation

The SlimPAR Q12 BT can be mounted in any position, ensuring adequate ventilation around the product.

Rigging

  • Ensure easy access for maintenance and programming.
  • Verify the structure can support the product's weight (refer to Technical Specifications).
  • When mounting overhead, always use a safety cable. Secure to a rigging point (elevated platform or truss).
  • When rigging to a truss, use a mounting clamp of appropriate weight capacity.
  • For power linking multiple products, mount them close enough for cables to reach.
  • Bracket adjustment knobs allow directional aiming. Loosen or tighten manually; using tools could damage them.

Mounting Diagram Description: The diagram shows the SlimPAR Q12 BT fixture with its mounting bracket. A "Mounting Clamp" (e.g., CLP-15 or CLP-15N from Chauvet) attaches to the mounting hole on the bracket. A "Safety Cable" (e.g., CH-05 from Chauvet) is also attached to the fixture for overhead safety. The "Bracket Adjustment Knob" is shown on the side of the fixture's yoke.

5. Maintenance

Product Maintenance

Dust build-up reduces light output performance and can cause overheating, leading to reduced light source life and mechanical wear. To maintain optimum performance, clean lighting products at least twice a month. Usage and environmental conditions may increase cleaning frequency.

To clean the product:

  1. Unplug the product from power.
  2. Wait until the product is at room temperature.
  3. Use a vacuum or dry compressed air and a soft brush to remove dust from external surfaces/vents.
  4. Clean all transparent surfaces with a mild soap solution, ammonia-free glass cleaner, or isopropyl alcohol.
  5. Apply the solution directly to a soft, lint-free cotton cloth or a lens cleaning tissue.
  6. Softly drag any dirt or grime to the outside of the transparent surface.
  7. Gently polish the transparent surfaces until they are free of haze and lint.
