[Diagram showing rear panel connections and AC input]

Connection of power cord: Connect the speaker cables and signal cables first, then insert the power cord into the power socket.

Note:

  • Connect the power only after all other connections are finished.
  • It is normal for the power transformer to become hot during prolonged operation.
  • Unplug the power cord if you will not use the product for an extended period.
  • Ensure the corresponding voltage is as required. Cayin is not responsible for damage caused by misuse of unsuitable voltage.

Front Panel

[Diagram 1: Front panel layout]

  1. Power Switch: Used to switch the amplifier on or off.
  2. Volume Knob: Used to control the volume.
  3. Headphone Socket: Allows enjoyment of high-quality music with headphones.
  4. BIAS Meter: Used to monitor the working current of the power tubes. The meter's backlight is on when the unit is switched on.
  5. Input Selector: Used to choose between 4 audio sources. Sound is heard from LINE1 when the LINE1 indicator is on, from LINE2 when the LINE2 indicator is on, and from LINE3 when the LINE3 indicator is on.

Rear Panel

[Diagram 2: Rear panel layout]

  1. Signal Input Terminal: Used for audio source input (LINE1, LINE2, LINE3).
  2. Right Channel Output: Connect to the right channel speaker.
  3. Left Channel Output: Connect to the left channel speaker.
  4. Power Socket with Main Fuse: The main fuse is located below the power socket. Replace the fuse with the same type as indicated.

Top Panel

[Diagram 5: BIAS meter during working, showing acceptable range]

Controls:

  1. Bias Adjustment Knob for Power Tubes (A1, A2, A3, A4): Small knobs for adjusting bias.
  2. Tube Positions (A1, A2, A3, A4): These positions house EL34 power tubes.
  3. Bias Selector Switch (A1, A2, A3, A4): Used to select the corresponding tube for bias adjustment.
  4. Tube Positions (V1, V2, V3): These positions house 5BK7A preamp tubes.
  5. Triode/Ultralinear Indicator: Selects the operating state (TR: Triode Operation State; UL: Ultralinear Operation State).

Bias Adjustment Procedure:

Turn the BIAS SELECTOR Switch to the power tube you are preparing to adjust. Use a flat screwdriver to adjust the corresponding BIAS ADJ. knob. Monitor the BIAS meter on the top panel and ensure the pointer stays in the center. Bias adjustment for A1, A2, A3, and A4 should be consistent. After initial adjustment, re-check all four to ensure uniform bias levels.

Sample of Bias Adjustment for Power Tube A1:

  1. Turn the BIAS SELECTOR Switch to A1.
  2. Turn the BIAS ADJ. knob A1 until the pointer of the bias meter centers. Repeat for A2, A3, and A4.

Note:

  • Be careful of the high temperature of the tubes during operation.
  • Replace tubes carefully and correctly.
  • Power tubes must be matched for optimal function.

Installation

Carefully read and follow the manual for installation:

  • Do not place the machine near heat sources like radiators or heat registers.
  • Keep the unit's ventilation open to avoid overheating.
  • Do not expose the appliance to rain or moisture.
  • Keep the amplifier at a distance that allows easy connection of cables.
  • Install the amplifier steadily on a level surface, ensuring all four feet are even.
  • Maintain a distance of over 15cm from surrounding walls.

Note: Please ensure the local voltage level matches the input level indicated on the rear panel. Incorrect voltage may cause problems or shorten the amplifier's life.

Tube Replacement

Audio Connection

Connect the Cayin MT-35 MK2 with other audio equipment as shown in the diagrams.

[Diagram showing connection from a CD player to the amplifier's input terminals]

Note:

  • Refer to the manuals of other connected equipment during installation.
  • Do not insert the power cord into the main socket before all other equipment is well connected.
  • 'R' refers to the right channel, and 'L' represents the left channel.
  • Follow correct connection guidance to avoid noise, poor function, or damage.
  • Do not run signal cables together with power cables and speaker cables, as this can degrade acoustic fidelity.

Speaker Connection

[Diagram showing speaker connection to the amplifier's output terminals]

Check the impedance of your speakers:

Attach the positive terminal of your speaker to the 4 or 8 ohm terminal on the amplifier, and the negative terminal to the 0 ohm terminal. If your speakers are 6 ohm, using the 4 or 8 ohm terminal is preferential and should not cause damage to the amplifier. Connecting the left and right speakers according to the guidance ensures acoustic fidelity.

[Diagram showing banana plug and normal plug connections]

Connection of speaker cables:

  1. Unscrew the terminal knob.
  2. Insert the speaker cable.
  3. Screw the terminal knob.

Note:

  • Connect the speaker cables to the amplifier after they are well connected to the speakers.
  • Connect both speakers to ensure acoustic fidelity.
  • Please observe the signal direction indication on the cables.
  • Do not mix up the positive and negative ends of speaker cables, as this can cause a short circuit.

Turning On

Before turning on the amplifier, ensure all connections are correct and the power supply is stable.

  • Turn on the amplifier; the power LED will illuminate, indicating the amplifier is working.
  • If the LED does not turn on, please contact your local agent or Cayin.
  • Select the correct audio source channel and adjust the volume to your preferred level to enjoy the music.

Note:

  1. While the audio system is operating, do not unplug signal or speaker cables, as this can damage the amplifier and other equipment.
  2. Wait at least 2 minutes before turning the power on again after turning it off, to prevent damage to the vacuum tubes.
