Overview
The Peavey Versarray™ 218 is a passive subwoofer with an impressive 4,800-watt program rating. Its performance is enhanced by Kevlar®-impregnated cones, which boost strength and minimize distortion. It also features polymide-impregnated fiberglass formers, die-cast aluminum frames, and 4-inch diameter edge-wound voice coils with solderless, diffusion-welded OFHC copper leads.
A key feature is the Peavey UniVent™ venting system (U.S. Patent #6,549,637). This exclusive process actively pumps cool outside air through the enclosure, ensuring stable operating temperatures, improved reliability, and reduced power compression during demanding continuous use.
Constructed with premium 13-ply Baltic birch and finished with a durable acrylic polyurethane, the Versarray 218 is designed for longevity and heavy use. It includes a 16-gauge, powder-coated perforated metal grille for protection. For ease of transport and setup, it is equipped with tilt-back 4-inch casters.
Connectivity options include two 4-pin Neutrik® jacks wired in parallel, or an 8-pin Neutrik® jack with a 4-pin Neutrik® thru jack for bi-amping capabilities. An optional bolt-on Ground Stack Kit is available, allowing users to securely mount up to three Versarray 112 enclosures with full articulation.
