3 How to Install

  1. Determine the installation location of the remote sensor (switch box).

    Observe the following:

    • Select a place that detects the average room temperature and is not subject to direct sunlight, heat sources, or airflow from the air conditioner.
    • Install the sensor within the provided cable length (12m). The cable cannot be extended, as this may cause misoperation due to noise.
    • The following parts must be procured at the installation site:
      • Cross-recessed pan head screw (M4)
      • Tow screws
      • Single switch box
      • Thin steel conduit
      • Lock nut, bushing
  2. Connect the wires.

Connect the 2-core cable to the terminal block in the lower case. Peel the sheath of the 2-core cable as shown in Figure 1, and wire it correctly as shown in Figure 2.

    • Figure 1 Description: Illustrates a 2-core cable with its outer sheath, conductor insulation, and conductor. It shows the process of peeling back the outer sheath to expose the insulated conductors.
    • Figure 2 Description: Depicts a terminal block with terminals labeled ELV, ELV. It shows the stripped conductors of the 2-core cable being correctly inserted into these terminals.

The wiring connection between the indoor unit's electrical box and the remote sensor is shown in Figure 3. There are three connection methods:

    • Method 1: Exchange 2-core cable (connector 20) - Use the connector attached to the end of the 2-core cable as is.
    • Method 2: Connect to terminal block - Cut the connector from the 2-core cable and connect the cable to the terminal block on the I.B. (Indoor Board).
    • Method 3: Use post and convert cable - Utilize the enclosed post for connection and a convert cable.

These methods vary depending on the indoor unit. If the 2-core cable is to be embedded in the wall, follow Figure 4.

    • Figure 3 Description: Shows wiring connections from the remote sensor to the indoor unit's electrical box. It details three methods: using the existing connector, connecting to the indoor board terminal block, or using a post and convert cable. It also includes a diagram showing cable routing from the rear of the remote sensor to the indoor unit, potentially via thin steel conduit.
    • Figure 4 Description: Illustrates how to embed the 2-core cable in a wall, showing the cable routed from the rear of the remote sensor to the indoor unit.
  3. Install the lower case on the wall or switch box.

Note: The recommended tightening torque for installing the 2-core cable to the terminal block is 1.17 N·m.

Wiring hole: Refer to step (5) for routing the 2-core cable.

    Installation on wall:

    • Mount the lower case to a flat wall using wood screws.
    • CAUTION: Overtightening screws may break or deform the case. Installing on a bumpy wall may also cause breakage or trouble.
    • Securely seal the wiring lead-in hole with putty or silicone as described in step (6).

    Installation on switch box:

    • Mount the lower case to a single switch box using cross-recessed pan head screws.
    • Ensure the switch box and conduit are properly connected and sealed with putty or silicone as described in step (6).
    • CAUTION: Overtightening screws may break or deform the case.
  4. Fit the upper case.

Catch the two upper claws first and fit the case. Ensure it clicks securely.

    • CAUTION: Securely fit the case until a catching sound is heard. It may drop off if not fitted securely.

To remove the case, insert a flat-flap screwdriver into the claw section and move it in the direction of the arrow.

    • CAUTION: Do not turn the screwdriver when it is engaged in the claw section, as the claws may break.
  5. Wiring hole for direction installation on wall, etc.

Cut the thin, shaded section of the lower case using a knife or nippers. The 2-core cable connected to the terminal block is led out through this opening.

    • To lead wiring from top of remote sensor: Cut the designated section on the top.
    • To lead wiring from rear of remote sensor: Cut the designated section on the rear.
  6. Securely seal the wiring lead hole with putty or silicon.

This prevents dew, water drops, cockroaches, and other insects from entering.

    • When installing directly on the wall, seal the cut section on the lower case.
    • If wiring passes through a hole in the wall (from the rear), seal that hole.
    • When installing on a switch box, seal the connection between the switch box and conduit.

    Diagram Description for Sealing:

    • Shows sealing the wiring lead-in hole with putty or silicone for both wall and switch box installations. For wall mounting, it shows sealing the cut section of the lower case. For switch box mounting, it shows sealing the connection of the switch box and conduit.
