Argo ISIDE Portable Air Conditioner User Manual

Read the user instructions carefully before operating the appliance or performing maintenance operations. Follow all instructions; failure to do so may lead to accidents and/or damage. Keep these instructions for future reference.

Refrigerant R290

The air conditioning unit uses a special refrigerant circulating in the system. This refrigerant is R290, with an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of 0 and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3. R290 is flammable and odorless. It can cause explosions under certain conditions, but its flammability is very low and it can only be ignited by open flame. Compared to other common refrigerants, R290 is non-polluting, does not affect the ozone layer, and does not contribute to the greenhouse effect. R290 has excellent thermodynamic characteristics, leading to very high energy efficiency. Therefore, air conditioners require only a small amount of refrigerant.

Warning: Do not attempt to speed up the defrosting process or clean the appliance in ways other than those recommended by the manufacturer. If repair is necessary, contact the nearest authorized service center. Any repairs performed by unqualified personnel can be dangerous. The appliance must be stored in a room that does not have continuous ignition sources (e.g., open flame, gas appliance, or electric heater). Do not puncture or incinerate the appliance. The appliance must be installed, operated, and stored in a room larger than 7 m².

Operating Limits (Internal Temperature)

Maintain the following distances for efficient operation of the portable air conditioner:

Included Accessories

Place the appliance vertically on a flat, stable surface, as close as possible to a window; leave a clearance of 50 cm from walls and other objects.

Using the Window Terminal Hose

  1. Extend the flexible hose as needed to reach the outside (max. 1.5m) and connect it to the back of the air conditioner.
  2. Open the window and block one of them using the handle. Support the terminal adapter on the fixed section of the window and move the other section towards it.

Using the Window Kit

  1. To create the hole in the glass, it is recommended to take the porthole kit to a glazier.
  2. Insert the window element into the window.
  3. Insert the circular adapter into the retractable flexible hose and then the retractable hose with the circular adapter into the window element without a cap.
  4. Insert the circular adapter into the flexible hose.
  5. Connect the entire assembly to the back of the air conditioner.

Connect the power cord to a suitable electrical outlet (220-240V). Insert the batteries into the remote control, ensuring correct polarity. Select the desired operating mode using the remote control.

Avoid bending or twisting the flexible hose.

Operation Modes

If the air conditioner is not used for long periods, disconnect the flexible hose and use the window kit cap.

This appliance can be used to cool, dehumidify, and ventilate air. Before use, place the unit in a vertical position for at least two hours.

When switching between operating modes, the fan continues to run, but the compressor stops. The compressor will restart after a 3-minute delay to prevent damage.

This appliance is equipped with an automatic defrost system. When the appliance is defrosting, the power indicator LED on the control panel will flash. In cooling and dehumidification modes, the compressor stops for 10 minutes, after which the appliance resumes normal operation.

Evacuation Hose Connection

Regularly clean the air filters located under the rear grille to maintain the air conditioner in optimal operating condition.

1. COOL Mode (Cooling)

2. DRY Mode (Dehumidification)

NOTE: The air conditioner does not cool the room when operating as a dehumidifier. When used as a dehumidifier, the flexible hose should not be connected. For efficient dehumidification, allow the rear exhaust accessory to discharge directly outdoors. Dehumidification mode is recommended in autumn and winter. If used in summer, it is recommended to keep the flexible hose attached to vent hot air outside rather than releasing it into the room. During dehumidification, use the continuous drainage system (see next chapter, "Condensate Disposal").

3. FAN Mode (Ventilator)

Cooling

This appliance automatically evaporates condensate in COOLING mode. Ensure that when the unit is operating in cooling mode, the rubber caps that close the rear drainage holes are correctly positioned. When the air conditioner is operating in cooling mode, continuous condensate drainage is not required; only in certain weather conditions with very humid air does water accumulate inside the unit. When the water tank is full, the "Ft" error appears on the control panel to indicate that the tank is full and the appliance stops.

Drainage

Manual Drainage

To empty the tank, turn off the air conditioner and unplug it. Remove the rear drain plug and direct it towards a nearby drain. Ensure the hose is not twisted or bent. The drainage hose must be directed downwards. Close the drain opening again with the cap and resume using the air conditioner.

Continuous Drainage

WARNING! When using the air conditioner in DEHUMIDIFICATION mode, continuous drainage is recommended to ensure an efficient dehumidification process. Connect one end of the PVC pipe (not supplied) to the upper exhaust port and place the other end over a drain.

Remote Control and Control Panel

Remote Control Operation

  1. Remove the battery cover in the direction indicated by the arrow.
  2. Insert the batteries into the remote control (AAA/LR03/1.5V - not included), respecting Directive 2006/66/EC on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators, and Directive 2013/56/EC with subsequent amendments, as well as the indicated polarities.
  3. Replace the battery cover.
  4. Point the remote control towards the appliance's receiver.
  5. The remote control must be within 6 meters of the air conditioner.
  6. There should be no obstacles between the remote control and the air conditioner.
  7. Do not throw the remote control or drop it on the floor.
  8. Do not leave the remote control in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
  9. Remove the batteries if the remote control is not used for a month or more.
  10. If you do not hear any sound or no symbol appears on the display, the batteries need to be replaced.
  11. If the system resets when the remote control button is pressed, the electric signal is weak and the batteries need to be replaced.
  12. Dispose of batteries in accordance with current legislation.

Correct Disposal of the Product

INFORMATION REGARDING THE CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE 2006/66/EC AND DIRECTIVE 2013/56/EC AMENDMENTS

Please replace the batteries when they are depleted. At the end of their lifespan, batteries should not be disposed of with unsorted waste. They must be disposed of in appropriate waste disposal centers or at distributors that provide such services. Separate disposal of used batteries prevents negative effects on the environment and human health resulting from improper disposal, and also allows the materials they are made of to be recovered and recycled, in order to achieve significant savings in energy and resources. The obligation for separate disposal is highlighted by the symbol of a crossed-out garbage bin that appears on the battery. Improper disposal of the product by the user will result in the application of administrative sanctions, as defined by current laws.

FOR OPTIMAL REMOTE CONTROL OPERATION, POINT ITS END (TRANSMITTER) TOWARDS THE APPLIANCE'S RECEIVER (RECEIVER).

Maintenance

WARNING!

Before performing any cleaning or maintenance operation, disconnect the appliance from the electrical outlet.

1. Cleaning Air Filters

The air filters should be checked at least once every two weeks of use. Operating the appliance with dirty or blocked filters will reduce the efficiency of the air conditioner and may cause serious problems.

To remove the upper filter, unfasten the grille by gripping both sides and pulling towards you; to remove the lower grille, unfasten it using its tabs. The filters are integrated into the respective grilles.

Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the filters. If this is not sufficient, wash with warm water and neutral detergent (if necessary), rinse thoroughly in cold water, and allow to air dry before reinstalling.

2. Cleaning the Casing

Use a damp, soft cloth to clean the exterior surface of the air conditioner. Do not use water that is too hot, solvents, gasoline, or other aggressive chemical compounds, talcum powder, or brushes, as these may damage the surface or color of the casing. To remove stains, use warm water with a neutral detergent. Do not pour water over the air conditioner to clean it, as this may damage internal components or cause a short circuit.

3. Storage

When the air conditioner is not used for a long period, clean the filters and store it. Place the appliance in a vertical position. Do not place heavy objects on the appliance and, if possible, protect it with a plastic film.

4. Transport

If possible, transport the air conditioner in a vertical position. If not possible, lay it on its right side. Immediately upon arrival at the destination, return the appliance to a vertical position and wait at least 4 hours before using it.

5. For complete safety, regularly check the condition of the power cord; if it becomes damaged through use, contact the Service Center to replace the cord.
