U-PROX SE KEYPAD

Universal reader with OSDP and keypad

U-PROX SE KEYPAD USER MANUAL

The U-PROX SE keypad is an adjustable universal SmartLine reader with a wireless keypad designed for mobile credentials and proximity identifiers. In conjunction with the U-PROX ID application and mobile identifiers, U-PROX IDs enable any access control system to utilize smartphones as access credentials.

Installation

1. Make a small recess or hole (diameter of 14 mm) to connect the cable under the reader's case.

2. Loosen the screw at the bottom of the reader.

3. Remove the top cover.

4. Carry out wiring to the control panel.

5. Mount the reader on the wall using the supplied plastic dowels and screws.

6. Place the top cover and tighten it with a screw.

Note: Installation on metal surfaces may decrease the reading range. Do not place readers closer than 20 cm from each other. It is possible to install two readers at a distance of 10-15 cm if their yellow wires (Hold/Sync) are interconnected. This synchronizes the readers to work alternately.

Connection

The reader offers seamless and easy connection to existing and new access systems due to its OSDP, Wiegand (26, 32, 34, 37, 40, 42, 56, 58, 64, 80 bits, with automatic selection), RS232, and TouchMemory support.

It is recommended to use a multi-core signal cable with a 0.22 mm² cross-section for each wire between the reader and the panel.

It is recommended to use the following wiring when the reader is connected to the control panel with a twisted pair.

Configuration

The reader can be fully configured, from indication to encryption modes, using the free mobile application U-Prox Config.

The reader is supplied without an engineering password for programming. To connect and set/reset the password, connect inputs D0 (green) and D1 (white) to each other and apply power to the reader.

The reader firmware can be updated using an NFC-enabled Android smartphone only.

Mobile Identification

The reader supports digital personal mobile credentials processed and stored in the user's smartphone via the U-PROX ID application. These can be transferred between the reader and the smartphone via NFC and/or 2.4 GHz radio.

The reader also supports hardware active mobile identifiers: U-PROX Tag and U-PROX Auto Tag.

The reader supports three operation modes for smartphones with U-Prox ID:

U-PROX ID application

The free mobile application U-PROX ID receives, stores, and transmits mobile credentials between the reader and the smartphone.

How to obtain mobile ID

Mobile IDs can be purchased from U-PROX dealers.

RFID, 125 kHz

The reader supports 125 kHz cards with amplitude (ASK - EmMarine, etc.) and frequency modulation (FSK - Temik, etc.). These cards are popular due to their low cost, but lack cloning protection.

Mifare® identifiers

The reader supports working with Mifare® cards, reading encrypted identifiers with a user-assigned card number, and using static or diversified encryption keys. Up to five encryption profiles can be used simultaneously.

Mifare® Classic

This is the least secure series of cards, with a vulnerability in the Crypto 1 (SL1) encryption algorithm. When using Mifare® Classic, it is recommended to encrypt all card sectors with a diversified encryption key.

Mifare® Plus

The reader supports SL1 and SL3 modes for Mifare® Plus. SL3 mode is recommended for its higher security and AES encryption algorithm.

The reader supports Mifare DESFire EV1, EV2, and EV3 cards, with AES encryption algorithm support.

Warranty

The warranty for U-PROX devices (excluding batteries) is valid for two years from the date of purchase. If the device operates incorrectly, please contact support@u-prox.systems first, as the issue may be resolvable remotely.
