3 Safety Instructions
Read this document and accompanying instructions carefully, paying close attention to safety information. Failure to comply with safety instructions may invalidate the warranty and lead to liability for personal injury or property damage.
3.1 General Safety
- The product is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not leave packaging material unattended, as it could become a hazard for children.
- For questions not covered, contact technical support or qualified personnel.
- Maintenance, modifications, and repairs must only be performed by trained technicians.
- Handle the product with care; avoid jolts, impacts, or falls.
- Do not place the product under mechanical stress.
- Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, steam, solvents, high humidity, moisture, and direct sunlight.
- Allow the product to reach room temperature before operation if moved from a cold to a warm environment to prevent condensation damage.
- Consult an expert if unsure about operation, safety, or connection.
- If safe operation is no longer possible (visible damage, malfunction, improper storage, transport stress), take the product out of service and protect it from accidental use. Do not attempt self-repair.
- The LiPo battery is permanently built-in and cannot be replaced. Do not damage the battery casing, as this can cause explosion or fire. Do not short-circuit battery contacts or throw the battery/product into fire. Charge the battery regularly. Place the product on a heat-resistant surface during charging.
- Do not modify or repair power supply components (plugs, cables, adapters). Use only the supplied power adapter. Connect to an accessible wall socket. Check voltage compatibility. Never connect or disconnect with wet hands. Unplug by the grip, not the cable. Disconnect during storms. If the power adapter is damaged, switch off power at the source before unplugging and replace with an identical adapter. Ensure cables are not pinched, kinked, or damaged, and lay them to prevent tripping hazards.
- The robotic arm is electrical equipment. Non-professional technicians must not modify wiring.
- Comply with local laws and regulations; these instructions are supplemental.
- Use the robotic arm within specified environmental conditions to avoid shortening its lifespan or causing damage.
- Personnel operating or maintaining the arm must be trained on safety precautions and correct methods.
- Avoid corrosive cleaning agents; anodized components are not suitable for immersion cleaning.
- Do not allow children to play with the robotic arm unsupervised. Monitor all running processes and turn off the equipment promptly after completion.
- Do not place hands into the robot's workspace during operation to avoid bruising or pinching.
- Handle and install the robotic arm carefully, following packing box instructions.
- Commissioning of incomplete machines is prohibited until integrated into a compliant machine.
- Do not modify or remove nameplates, instructions, icons, or marks on the product.
- Refer to the Quick Start guide before use.
3.8 Precautions
- Position the Dobot Magician with a 45° angle between the forearm and rear arm before startup. A red LED indicator signifies a limited position; move the arm into the workspace.
- The Dobot Magician moves slowly when shut down. Do not place hands in the workspace during operation. Power down only when the LED indicator is completely off.
- If software coordinates are abnormal, press the reset button on the base or use the 'Home' function in DobotStudio.
- During reset, the LED indicator turns yellow; it turns green upon successful reset (approx. 5 seconds).
- During homing, the arm rotates clockwise to a limit position and returns to the homing point. The LED indicator turns blue and blinks; a beep and green LED indicate successful homing.
- Turn off the Dobot Magician completely before connecting or disconnecting external devices (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, controllers, sensors) to prevent device damage.
- Wear laser safety glasses when using the laser module and protect eyes and skin from laser exposure.
- The heating rod of the 3D printing module reaches up to 250°C; exercise caution.
- Do not operate or turn off the Dobot Magician during firmware burning to prevent damage.
