Setup Options
Unpack the box, power the device, and choose one of the following options:
1. FortiExplorer Setup
Step 1: Scan QR Code to Install the FortiExplorer app.
Step 2: Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device for BLE or connect your mobile USB cable into the device.
Step 3: Follow the on-screen instructions.
2. GUI Setup
Step 1: Connect an Ethernet Cable from Port 1 on the FortiGate to your Management Computer.
Step 2: Configure the management computer with IP address 192.168.1.x and subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
Step 3: Access the GUI via a web browser at https://192.168.1.99.
3. CLI Setup
Step 1: Connect a USB Console Cable (available for purchase) to the Console Port on the FortiGate.
Step 2: Connect the other end of the USB Console Cable to your Management Computer.
Serial Connection Settings:
- Speed (default): 9600
- Data bits: 8
- Stop bits: 1
- Parity: None
- Flow Control: None

4. FortiGate Cloud Setup
Step 1: Connect an Ethernet Cable from the WAN port on the FortiGate to your network/internet connection.
Step 2: Connect to the Internet.
Browse to forticloud.com and follow the on-screen instructions.
Front Panel Description (FG-90G)
1. BLE LED: Indicates Bluetooth status. States: Flashing Blue (Discovery mode), Blue (BLE connected), Off (BLE off).
2. RESET Button: Used for resetting the device and BLE management.
3. HA Status: Indicates High Availability status. States: Green (Operating in an HA cluster), Amber (HA failover), Off (Not in an HA cluster).
4. Ports:
- CONSOLE (RJ45): For CLI management connection (default IP: 192.168.1.99).
- USB (USB A): USB 3.0 server port.
5. SFP+ Ports (x2): Shared with WAN ports. LED indicators: Green (Connected at 10Gbps), Flashing Green (Data activity), Off (No link established).
6. WAN Ports (x2): Shared with SFP+ ports.
- LINK/ACT (Left LED): Green (Connected), Flashing Green (Data Activity), Off (No activity).
- SPEED (Right LED): Green (10Gbps), Amber (5/2.5/1Gbps), Off (100Mbps or off).
7. Ports 1 to 6 and FortiLink Ports A & B:
- LINK/ACT (Left LED): Green (Connected), Flashing Green (Data Activity), Off (No activity).
- SPEED (Right LED): Green (1Gbps), Amber (100Mbps), Off (10Mbps or off).
Rear Panel Description (FG-90G)
1. Power Input: 12VDC 3A, 100-240VAC 50/60Hz. (Optional redundant power adapter and cable available for purchase).

Rack Mount Instructions Summary
When installing in a rack, consider elevated ambient temperatures, reduced airflow, mechanical loading, circuit overloading, and ensure reliable earthing. Refer to the specific Product Model Data Sheet for detailed environmental specifications.
Safety Precautions
- Battery: Risk of explosion if replaced with an incorrect type. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
- Electrical: CAUTION: Shock Hazard. Disconnect all power sources before servicing.
- This product is intended to be supplied by a Listed external power supply adapter (12 Vdc, 3 A, marked LPS or Class 2).
- Grounding: Ensure proper grounding for equipment connected from outside the building, using surge protectors. Use an ESD workstation or anti-static wrist strap. A separate protective earthing terminal is provided on the back panel.

- FCC (USA): Complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. This is a Class B digital device. Equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20cm between the radiator and your body.
- Industry Canada (ICES/ISED): Complies with Canadian ICES-003 and RSS standards.
- European Conformity (CE): This product is in compliance with Directive 2014/53/EU. It operates within the 2402-2480MHz frequency range with power less than 20dBm. Minimum distance of 20cm between radiator and body is required.
- UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA): Complies with Statutory Instrument 1206 Radio Equipment Regulations 2017. Operates within 2402-2480MHz (<20dBm) with a 20cm distance requirement.
