Spacing for Recessed Area or Closet Installation
The dimensions shown are for the recommended spacing allowed. Consider additional spacing for ease of installation and servicing, as well as for wall, door, and floor moldings.
- An additional spacing of 1" (25 mm) on all sides of the dryer is recommended to reduce noise transfer.
- For closet installation with a door, minimum ventilation openings in the top and bottom of the door are required. Louvered doors with equivalent ventilation openings are acceptable.
- Companion appliance spacing should also be considered.
Diagram shows a dryer installed in a recessed area or closet, illustrating recommended clearances and ventilation openings.
Key Spacing Dimensions:
- Maximum depth clearance: 14" (356 mm)
- Side clearance (minimum/recommended): 6"/0" (152 mm/0 mm)
- Front clearance (minimum/recommended): 1"/0" (25 mm/0 mm)
- Rear clearance: 18" (460 mm)
- Top ventilation opening: 48 in² (310 cm²)
- Bottom ventilation opening: 24 in² (155 cm²)
- Minimum clearance from back of dryer to wall: 1" (25 mm)
