Introduction
The Blaupunkt KPT-R1 is a wireless remote keypad designed for use with compatible alarm systems. It features proximity tag functionality for easy arming and disarming.

1. Learning
To learn the Remote Keypad to your control panel:
- Put the Control Panel into learning mode.
- Press the '#' and '*' keys simultaneously to transmit the learn code.
- Refer to your Control Panel's manual to complete the learning process.
2. Installation
The keypad has two knockouts on the back for wall mounting.
- Use the knockouts to mark the mounting position on the wall at chest height. Open the back cover.
- Drill holes into the wall using the knockouts as a template.
- Fix the keypad base onto the wall with the provided screws and plugs.
- Replace the keypad cover onto the base.
3. Operation
Standby Mode
The keypad has a power-saving feature. It will automatically turn off after 5 seconds of inactivity. Pressing any key will wake it up.
Keypad Settings
The keypad can be configured via a Test (programming) mode. Access this mode by entering the default Keypad PIN code '0000' followed by the '*' key. The Active Orange LED will illuminate.
Keypad Functions (in Test Mode):
- '*' + '1': Tag Management
- '*' + '2': Enable dual key Panic Alarm function
- '*' + '3': Enable dual key Fire Alarm function
- '*' + '4': Enable dual key Medical Alarm function
- '*' + '5': Disable all dual key functions
- '*' + '6': Change Keypad PIN Code (Enter old code + Status key, then new 4-digit code + '#' key)
- '*' + '8': Enable Arming without Use PIN code function
- '*' + '9': Enable Arming with User PIN code function (Default)
- '*' + '0': Enable Arming with KP PIN code function
- Pressing 'Disarm' twice: Exit Test Mode
RFID TAG Management
The keypad can store up to 6 RFID tags, which can be assigned to User PIN Codes for controlling the alarm system.
Add New Tag:
- Enter Keypad Test Mode.
- Press '*' + '1' for Tag Management. The Red Status LED will light up.
- Enter a 4-digit 'Control Panel User PIN Code' + '#' key.
- Place the TAG close to the Keypad when the Red Status LED is flashing.
- Press 'Disarm' to exit Tag Management.
Remove Existing Tag:
- Enter Keypad Test Mode.
- Press '*' + '1' for Tag Management. The Red Status LED will light up.
- Enter the User PIN Code of the Tag to be removed, then press the Status key.
- The keypad will emit a long beep, indicating the tag information has been removed.
Arming/Disarming Modes
The keypad can be configured for different arming modes:
- Arm with User PIN Code ('*' + '9'): Requires entering a User PIN Code for arming/disarming, or using a tag after entering the PIN.
- Arm without User PIN Code ('*' + '8'): Allows arming by simply pressing the Arm key. Disarming requires a User PIN Code.
- Arm with Keypad PIN Code ('*' + '0'): Requires entering the Keypad PIN Code for arming/disarming.
Checking Control Panel Status
Press the Status key to check the Control Panel's status. The Status LED will indicate the current mode:
- Red LED On: Away Arm mode
- Red LED Flash: Home Arm mode
- Blue LED On: Disarm mode
Dual Key Alarm Function
This function allows triggering alarms by pressing two keys simultaneously. It needs to be enabled in Test Mode (disabled by default).
- '1' + '3': Panic Alarm
- '4' + '6': Fire Alarm
- '7' + '9': Emergency Alarm
LED Indicators
Active LED:
- Off: Keypad in Standby Mode
- Blue LED On: Keypad in Normal Operation
- Blue LED Flash: Keypad in Normal Operation and Low Battery
- Orange LED On: Keypad in Test Mode
- Orange LED Flash: Keypad in Test Mode and Low Battery
Status LED:
- Red LED On: Away Arm mode
- Red LED Flash: Home Arm mode
- Blue LED On: Disarm mode
- Blue LED Flash: No reply from Control Panel
- Blue LED Flash: Incorrect PIN Code
- Blue LED Flash: Request for Home arm when under Away arm mode
- Blue LED Flash: Request for Force Arm
Fault LED:
- Orange LED On: Alarm in memory
- Orange LED Off: Fault exists in system
4. Battery Replacement
The keypad uses a 3V lithium battery. When the battery is low, follow these steps:
- Open the back cover.
- Remove the old batteries.
- Press any key several times to discharge the keypad.
- Insert new batteries, observing correct polarity.
- Replace the back cover.
5. Factory Reset
If you forget your Keypad PIN code or encounter issues, you can perform a factory reset:
- Open the back cover and remove the battery.
- Press and hold the '3' key while inserting the battery.
- The keypad will emit 3 short beeps.
- Release the '3' key to complete the reset.
