zDental Try In
Instruction for Use
Product Description
zDental Try In is a light-curing resin for the generative manufacturing of try-ins for full and partial dentures using 3D LCD printers utilizing wavelengths between 385nm–405nm. zDental Try In offers excellent mechanical properties, intended for evaluation of fit, occlusion, esthetics, and phonetics during try-in appointments.
Intended Use
- Try-ins for full and partial dentures
- Transfer and grinding templates
- Correction and occlusal impressions
Color and Package
Ivory liquid, 500ml/bottle
Contra-indications
zDental Try In contains (meth)acrylates and phosphine oxide. It should not be used in patients with a known hypersensitivity (allergy) to these ingredients. In case of an allergic reaction, please contact a medical physician.
Use and Safety Information
- Wear nitrile rubber gloves and a face mask when using this resin.
- Keep the room ventilated.
- Swallowing, eating, and drinking are forbidden in the printing place.
- Avoid direct contact of liquid or incompletely cured resin with skin. If contact occurs, wipe resin away and wash thoroughly with cold water. Use hand sanitizer or soap to assist in washing. If discomfort persists, consult a doctor immediately.
- If the user accidentally splashes the resin in the eyes, flush with plenty of water and seek medical attention immediately.
- For more safety details, please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) of this resin.
- The recommended using temperature for this resin is 21–25°C. Keep the resin away from direct sunlight or any kind of UV light.
Processing Printed Parts
Mixing Resin Before Using
In Bottle: Shake bottle vigorously prior to pouring into the resin tank.
In Resin Tank: Stir resin with a soft spatula. Take care not to damage the film of the resin tank.
After try-ins are printed, it is recommended to restore the remaining resin into the bottle and avoid leaving the resin in the resin tank for a long time.
Preparation
Prepare a print job using slicing software, such as Uniz Dental, Uniz Desktop, or Uniz Maker, depending on the UNIZ printer type. zDental Splint can be printed with a layer thickness of 100µm. For more information, please refer to the Uniz Dental Software Guide (www.uniz.com).
Printing
Turn on the printer and ensure it is functioning correctly. Check and clean the build platform, resin tank, and LCD printing screen. Place the resin tank filled with mixed resin onto the LCD printing screen and secure the tank. Upload the slicing file to the printer via USB or WIFI, then start printing. For more information, refer to the printer instructions (www.uniz.com).
Post-processing
Detaching Printed Parts
Once the printing process has ended, a dripping time of approximately 10 minutes is recommended. Use a soft spatula to remove resin residue from the build platform into the resin tank. Then, carefully detach the printed objects from the build platform.
Washing
Wash parts in an IPA bath with at least 98% purity. Best results are achieved using a pre-wash and post-wash. A UWash ultrasonic cleaner is recommended for washing parts.
- Pre-wash bath: 1 minute. After use, if the IPA density increases by 5%, use clean IPA for this pre-washing step.
- Post-wash bath: 1 minute, always use clean IPA for each post-washing step.
Drying
Use compressed air to dry parts. If residual resin remains, repeat the “washing-drying” steps. Ensure parts are thoroughly dry before post-curing.
Post-Curing
Post-curing is a UV-LED light treatment to ensure printed parts achieve optimal polymer conversion, minimize residual monomer, and obtain required mechanical properties and surface properties. UCure, a post-cured device from UNIZ, is recommended for curing parts. Both sides of the printed parts require post-curing. First, cure one side, allow it to cool to room temperature, then cure the other side and cool again. Insufficient cooling can distort the shape of the printed parts. Finally, remove support structures from the part.
- One side: 15 minutes, level 3, UCure
- The Other side: 15 minutes, level 3, UCure
Finishing and Polishing
Use a fine-toothed carbide bur or wheel rotary and handpiece to sand support stubs. Once the surface is satisfactory, polish and smooth the outside of printed parts for patient comfort. For a high gloss surface, pre-polish the printed parts with pumice stone. Remove any pumice dust and remnants under running water with a soft brush. Finally, use a buffer and high-lustre polishing compound without excessive pressure to achieve a high gloss shine.
Final Cleaning
Clean the printed parts thoroughly. Use a soft toothbrush with neutral soap and room temperature water. Finally, soak the pre-cleaned parts in unheated water and clean with an ultrasound bath.
Storage
Store in a dark place, avoiding direct sunlight or any kind of UV light. Recommended environment temperature is 15–28°C, and environment humidity is less than 45%RH. Do not use resin that exceeds the expiry date.
Disposal
Dispose of liquid resin waste in accordance with local regulations.
