The OptiPlex SX270 chassis is 50% smaller than the OptiPlex GX270 Small Form Factor chassis. The SX270 can be mounted in multiple orientations using the included mounting plate and is ideal for small spaces such as doctors' offices, computer labs, kiosks, and cubicle environments. For additional space savings, Dell offers virtual "all-in-one" flat panel solutions that enable the SX270 to be mounted to the back of a Dell UltraSharp 15" or 17" flat panel (models: 1504 and 1703). The SX270 and a Dell flat panel solution offer valuable space-saving benefits without the limitations of fixed configuration "all-in-one" PCs.
Relevant Technology
The SX270 offers relevant technology for your organization. Available with an Intel Pentium 4 processor with Hyper-Threading technology, as well as an integrated Intel Gigabit network connection, the OptiPlex SX270 can help increase productivity by reducing the time required for certain computing tasks. The SX270 provides native digital support and analog video support via an adapter. It also supports legacy peripherals by incorporating native PS/2, serial, and parallel ports. OptiPlex desktops offer relevant technology that's easy to integrate and manage.
Easy to Manage
The OptiPlex SX270 offers exceptional flexibility. The system features modular, hotswappable media bay devices such as a CD-RW/DVD combo drive. The system BIOS has boot support for Dell USB memory keys, virtually eliminating the need for floppy drives. For organizations with limited network wiring access, Dell offers an optional USB wireless networking device that can be secured to the SX270 chassis. In addition to hardware flexibility, the SX270 can be remotely managed with Dell OpenManage, a suite of systems management tools and utilities, as well as other enterprise management tools.
While the OptiPlex SX270 is highly flexible, security is not sacrificed. The chassis has layered security features such as a sealed media bay option for secure or thin client computing, media bay device locking, an optional chassis lock, a lockable rear cable enclosure, chassis intrusion detection, and remote alerting.
