Changing the Light
The refrigerator uses an energy-efficient, long-life LED lamp. Contact after-sales personnel for replacement.
Operating Instructions
Function & Setting
The display panel on the fridge door shows symbols and functions. Upon initial power connection, all icons illuminate for 2 seconds, and the system defaults to Smart mode. The display turns off automatically after 3 minutes of inactivity when doors are closed. It lights up when a door is opened or a key is pressed. Key operations are valid only when keys are unlocked and illuminated.
"Inverter" indicator lights up when the compressor is working.
Lock Function
When Child Lock is enabled, temperature and functions cannot be changed. Pressing temp zone or function buttons results in a beep with no display response, indicating the lock is active. It also activates automatically after 3 minutes of inactivity. To exit, press and hold the Unlock button for over 3 seconds until a beep is heard.
Smart Mode
Sets fridge compartment to 5°C and freezer compartment to -18°C for efficient operation. Temperatures cannot be changed in this mode. To turn on: Press Function key until Smart symbol flashes, then press OK key within 5 seconds. To turn off: Repeat the process, the Smart symbol will disappear.
Fast Freeze Mode
Sets freezer temperature to -32°C for rapid cooling, preserving nutrition and freshness. It automatically turns off after 26 hours. Temperatures cannot be changed in this mode. To turn on: Press Function key until Fast Freeze symbol flashes, then press OK key within 5 seconds. To turn off: Repeat the process, the Fast Freeze symbol will disappear.
Temperature Setting
Ensure the control panel is not locked and Smart/Fast Freeze modes are inactive before changing temperature. Temp cannot be changed if any mode is active.
How to Check Fridge and Freezer Temperature Setting
Press the Temp. Zone key. If the fridge zone symbol (right bar) flashes, it shows the fridge set temp. If the freeze zone symbol (left bar) flashes, it shows the freeze set temp.
Fridge Compartment Temperature Setting
Press the Temp. Zone key to select the fridge zone (right bar flashing). Press Temp key to set desired temperature. Press OK key or wait 5s to validate. The cycle is: 5°C→6°C→7°C→8°C→OF→2°C→3°C→4°C→5°C. 'OF' indicates the compartment is switched off and stops cooling. Remove all food before setting 'OF'. Displayed temperature may vary from actual internal temperature.
Freezer Compartment Temperature Setting
Press the Temp. Zone key to select the freezer zone (left bar flashing). Press Temp key to set desired temperature. Press OK key or wait 5s to validate. The cycle is: -18°C→-17°C→-16°C→-24°C→-23°C→-22°C→-21°C→-20°C→-19°C→-18°C.
Door Open Alarm
A buzzer alarm sounds continuously if a door is open for more than 3 minutes. It can be stopped by pressing any key but will resume if the door remains open. The alarm stops when doors are closed properly.
Power Cut Memory
The refrigerator retains its previous settings after a power interruption.
Power-on Delay
To protect the compressor from short-time power failures (less than 5 minutes), it will not start immediately upon power restoration but will restart after more than 5 minutes.
Over-temperature Alarm (after power outage)
If the freezer sensor temperature is higher than -10°C when powered on, freezer zone digits flicker. Temperature can be displayed by pressing any key, and the normal display restores after another key press or 10 seconds.
Fault Alarm
Display codes E0, E1, E2, EH, or EC indicate a fault. Contact CHiQ service.
Water Dispenser
Provides cold water. Follow instructions to fill the water tank: Open filler cover, fill slowly to prevent spills, close filler cover. Do not remove the tank. Fill to 10mm below the tank cover to avoid overflow.
Dispense water: Depress water switch with cup until desired amount is reached, then release. Keep cup until no water drips. Wipe any accumulated water at the dispenser base.
General Care and Maintenance
Cleaning the Refrigerator
- Clean thoroughly upon installation and thereafter.
- Turn off and unplug the unit.

- Long vacations (several months): Remove all food, unplug, clean, and dry interior thoroughly. Leave door slightly open to prevent odor/mold growth.
Repositioning and Relocating the Refrigerator
- Unplug the power cord.
- Remove all food and drinks.
- Securely tape down loose items and tape doors closed.
- Transport upright if possible. If laid down, lift immediately after job completion. Wait at least 24 hours before powering on.
Troubleshooting Guide
Problem | Solution |
---|---|
The fridge has no power | Power cord not plugged in properly. Circuit breaker tripped or blown fuse. Try a different power point. |
The light is not working. | No light in freezer compartment, only fridge compartment has light. Make sure power is connected. |
Compressor runs all the time | Room temperature is high. Large amount of food added. Door opened too often. Door not closed completely. Temperature control not set correctly. Door gasket not sealing properly. Incorrect clearances. Unit recently disconnected (requires 6+ hours to cool down). |
Temperature inside the refrigerator is too warm. | Temperature control set incorrectly (turn to cooler setting). Door kept open too long/frequently. Door not closed completely. Door gasket not sealing properly. |
Temperature inside the refrigerator is too cold. | Temperature control set too cold (turn to warmer setting). |
Temperature of external refrigerator side walls are warm. | This is normal. Exterior walls can be 15-20 degrees warmer than room temperature as the compressor transfers heat. |
Popping or cracking sound when compressor comes on. | Metal parts expand/contract. This is normal and sound will decrease as it runs. |
Bubbling or gurgling sound, like water boiling. | Refrigerant is circulating. This is normal operation. |
Vibrations. | Check if refrigerator is level/even. Rocks on floor. Ensure floor supports it. Level with shims. Ensure it's not touching the wall. See "Installation Instructions". |
Moisture forms on inside refrigerator walls. | Hot and humid weather increases frost build-up. Door slightly open. Door kept open too long/frequently. Door not sealed properly. |
Moisture forms on outside of refrigerator. | Door slightly open, causing cold air to meet warm moist outside air. |
The doors will not close properly. | Refrigerator not level. Gasket dirty or not maintained (clean and dry seals). Storage basket/shelves out of position. |
