Installation Instructions
Before Using the Refrigerator
- Remove all exterior and interior packing.
- Before connecting to a power source, let the unit stand upright for approximately 4 hours to mitigate potential malfunctions in the cooling system due to improper handling during transportation.
- Clean the interior surface with warm water using a soft cloth.
Installing the Refrigerator
- This appliance is designed to be free-standing only and should not be recessed or built-in.
- Allow at least 5cm of space between the back and sides of the refrigerator for proper air ventilation. Insufficient space can lead to cooling issues, reduced working life, and void the warranty.
- Place the refrigerator on a level/even floor surface strong enough to support its fully loaded weight to prevent vibrations.
- A concrete, tile, or waterproof floor is recommended. The fridge may produce defrost water or condensation moisture, which could cause water damage in extreme circumstances.
- The front feet can be adjusted to level the appliance properly. Adjust the two front feet to ensure the refrigerator is level or slightly elevated at the front.
- Situate the refrigerator away from direct sunlight and sources of direct heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.). Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating, and heat sources can increase power consumption.
- This unit is not designed for outdoor installation.
- Avoid situating the refrigerator in moist or pest-infested areas.
- Plug the refrigerator into a dedicated, properly installed, and grounded wall outlet. Never cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Consult a certified electrician or authorized service center for any questions regarding power or grounding.
- After plugging into a wall outlet, turn the unit on and allow it to cool down for 4-6 hours before placing food inside.
- Do not place heavy items on top of the appliance.
Energy Saving Tips
- Allow hot foods to cool to room temperature before placing them in the refrigerator. Overloading the refrigerator forces the compressor to work harder, and foods that freeze too slowly may lose quality or spoil.
- Ensure foods are wrapped properly and containers are wiped dry before placing them in the refrigerator. This helps reduce frost build-up.
- Organize and label food to minimize door openings and search times. Remove as many items as needed at once and close the door promptly.
Operating Instructions
START
The refrigerator's internal temperature is controlled by a potentiometer located in the refrigerated compartment. Temperature can vary based on door openings and ambient temperature.
Refrigerator temperature adjustment
- Adjusting the temperature knob from "MIN" to "MAX" gradually makes the refrigerator colder. Max is the coldest setting, and Min is the warmest.
- Adjusting the refrigerator temperature setting will change both the freezer and refrigerator temperatures simultaneously.
Freezer temperature adjustment
Cold air originates from the freezer compartment, controlled by an air flow adjustment knob on the freezer's back panel.
- Adjusting to "Max" (right side) allows more cold air to remain in the freezer, making it colder.
- Adjusting to "Min" (left side) directs more cold air to the refrigerator compartment, making it colder.
To balance air flow for normal working conditions, set the knob to the middle position. If the refrigerator compartment is not cold enough, adjust it to the "Min" position. Avoid keeping it on "Max" for extended periods to prevent excessive ice build-up in the freezer.
Humidity control
The crisper has a humidity control. Setting it to "High" retains more moisture inside, while setting it to "Low" reduces moisture. If excessive moisture or condensation forms under the crisper glass cover, place leafy greens (like arugula, spinach, herbs) in a plastic or paper bag before putting them in the crisper.
Notes
- Large quantities of food stored near or directly in front of the air vent can hinder cooling efficiency by affecting airflow.
- Allow 6 hours for temperature stabilization after changing thermostat settings in the fridge or freezer compartments.
- Frequent door opening and closing will increase the internal temperature.
- Different sections of the refrigerator compartment may have varying temperatures. Typically, the back wall and bottom lowest shelf are the coolest, while the top door rack is the warmest. To prevent frostbite, do not place raw vegetables too close to the coolest areas.
General Care and Maintenance
Cleaning the Refrigerator
- Upon installation, it is recommended to clean the appliance thoroughly and maintain it thereafter.
- Turn off and unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet before cleaning.
- Remove all food before washing the interior with a damp cloth soaked in lukewarm water and mild dishwashing liquid. Avoid using chemical detergents that might damage the fridge.
- Ensure the door gasket (seal) is kept clean for efficient unit operation. Improper cleaning can cause the seal to dislodge or tear.
- Dry the interior and exterior with a soft cloth.
Vacation Time
- Turn off and unplug the refrigerator from the power point.
- Remove all food.
- Clean the refrigerator.
- Leave the lid open slightly to prevent condensation, mold, or odors.
- Exercise extreme caution regarding children; the unit should not be accessible for child's play.
- Short vacations (less than three weeks): Leave the refrigerator operating.
- Long vacations (several months): Remove all food, unplug the power cord, clean, and dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent odors and mold growth, leave the door open slightly, securing it open if necessary.
Repositioning and Relocating the Refrigerator
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove all food and drinks.
- Securely tape down all loose items inside the refrigerator.
- Tape the doors closed securely.
- It is recommended to transport the refrigerator in an upright position. If it must be laid down, lift it upright immediately after transport. Wait at least 24 hours before plugging it in and powering it on.
Troubleshooting Guide
Problem | Solution |
---|---|
The fridge has no power |
|
The light is not working. |
|
Compressor runs all the time |
|
Freezer is too cold and refrigerator is too warm |
|
Temperature inside the refrigerator is too warm. |
|
Temperature inside the refrigerator is too cold. |
|
Temperature of external refrigerator side walls are warm. | The exterior refrigerator walls can be as much as 15-20 degrees warmer than room temperature. This is normal while the compressor works to transfer heat from inside the refrigerator cabinet to the condenser behind the refrigerator side walls. |
Popping or cracking sound when compressor comes on. | Metal parts undergo expansion and contraction, similar to hot water pipes. This is normal. The sound will level off or disappear as the refrigerator continues to run. |
Bubbling or gurgling sound, like water boiling. | Refrigerant (used to cool the refrigerator) is circulating throughout the system. This is normal operation. |
Vibrations. |
|
Moisture forms on inside refrigerator walls. |
|
Moisture forms on outside of refrigerator. | Door is slightly open, causing cold air from inside the refrigerator to meet warm moist air from the outside. |
The doors will not close properly. |
