Mounting

Diagrams illustrating mounting options for enclosures.

Maximum depth for mounting screws: 3 mm (1/8 in).

Electrical Rating - General

Diagrams showing LP side (A-C opens on pressure drop) and HP side (A-C opens on pressure rise) with SPDT and LP/HP signals.

Short circuit protection: Fuse 16 Amp.

When used acc. to UL regulations

Table detailing electrical ratings for UL compliance:

Contacts Voltage AC/DC Current AC/DC FL A LR A Resist. load A Pilot duty
A-B 240 16 A 8 A 4 A 8 A -
A-C 120 16 A 16 A 96 16 A -
A-D 240 - - 12 W - 16 A
C-D 240 - - 50 VA - 16 A

Use copper wire only. Tightening torque: 20 lb. in.

LP = Low Pressure

HP = High Pressure

Diagram illustrating HP settings, showing Cut Out and Differential points.

Convertible reset

Information on convertible reset for KP 15, KP 17WB, KP 47WB.

Instructions: Insert a screwdriver into the slot on the lock disc and turn it to the desired reset configuration. Do not turn the screw on the lock disc as it may damage the convertible reset mechanism.

Manual trip function

Diagram showing manual trip function, emphasizing to use fingers only and not a screwdriver.

Adjustment

Diagrams showing adjustment ranges for LP and LP differential.

Reset options

Table showing different reset options: LP manual, LP auto, HP manual, HP auto.

Note: Do not select automatic reset if system safety requires manual reset. Selected reset configuration may be protected against unauthorized actions by applying a seal.

CAUTION

Disconnect power supply before wiring connections or service to avoid electrical shock or equipment damage. Never touch live parts with fingers or tools.

Electrical rating

AC-3: 16 A / 250 V AC

AC-15: 10 A / 250 V AC

Voltage Current range Power factor (cos phi) Frequency
250V AC ≤ 4.0 A PF ≥ 0.400 50Hz/60Hz
250V AC > 4.0 to 6.0 A PF ≥ 0.594 50Hz/60Hz
250V AC > 6.0 to 16.0 A PF ≥ 0.780 50Hz/60Hz

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Safety requirements

  1. KP pressure switches shall only be employed in units/systems complying with charge limits and ignition source avoidance requirements of IEC 60335-2-24, IEC 60335-2-40, IEC 60335-2-89, ISO 5149, EN378-1 or equivalent.
  2. Prevent overload on KPs. If damaged, stop the system/unit and replace the KP.
  3. Implement electrostatic discharge and electrical leakage protection through grounding or other measures.
  4. Only trained personnel authorized for flammable refrigerants systems may perform installation, maintenance, and switch exchange using appropriate tools.
  5. Regularly check the function of the KP switch.
  6. Install KP pressure switches in areas with a low risk of mechanical damage.
  7. Consider corrosion protection for KP pressure switches in corrosive environments.
  8. Ensure cables do not contact sharp edges. Connect cables with adequate stress relief to prevent pulling forces on terminals.
  9. For systems with pressure pulsation, ensure these are effectively damped to prevent bellows failure. Keep KP switch cycle frequency as low as possible.
  10. Do not install KP switches in areas with high vibration levels.
