4. Important Notes
4.1. Paper Calibration
Your printer may occasionally require paper calibration to ensure accurate label detection and printing. This can be done in two ways:
Programmatic Calibration
Use the "Diagnostic Tool" software (downloadable from https://www.xprintertech.com/test-tool). In the tool, navigate to Calibrate Sensor.
The "Calibrate Sensor" window within the Diagnostic Tool, showing options for Auto Calibration and Manual Setup.
Click the "Calibrate" button. The printer will automatically recognize the label size, print a few blank pages, and then stop, ready for printing.
Hardware Calibration
This method is performed directly on the printer.
- Turn off the printer (switch the power button at the back to '0').
- Press and hold the button on the top panel.
- While holding the button, turn the printer back on. The button light will turn purple, then blue, and then start flashing red.
- Release the button when it flashes red. The printer will automatically start the calibration process.
If, after calibration, the button flashes purple again, wait a moment. The printer will then calibrate the sensor, clear any errors, and print a configuration page.
4.2. Factory Reset
In some cases, you may need to restore the printer to its factory default settings. This can be done easily:
- Turn off the printer (switch the power button at the back to '0').
- Press and hold the button on the top panel.
- While holding the button, turn the printer back on. When the button on the panel flashes blue, release it. The printer will revert to its factory settings.
Note: This procedure does not remove network configurations such as IP address or WiFi network name/password.
Conclusion
Thank you for purchasing an Xprinter printer.
