Hookup Diagrams
The document includes diagrams illustrating typical live sound and recording system setups. These diagrams show how various audio sources and playback devices are connected to the Mackie ProFXv3+ mixer.
Typical Live Sound System:
This setup typically involves connecting microphones for vocals and instruments, guitars, keyboards, and other line-level sources to the mixer's input channels. The mixer's outputs are then connected to powered speakers or an amplifier and passive speakers for live sound reinforcement.
Typical Recording System:
This setup shows microphones and instruments connected to the mixer's inputs. The mixer's USB I/O allows for connection to a computer for recording. Playback devices like monitors or headphones are connected to the mixer's control room or headphone outputs.

Getting Started
- Read and understand the Important Safety Instructions on page 2.
- Turn down all knobs except the channel EQ and pan knobs, and set all the faders fully down.
- Set all channel EQ knobs and pan knobs at their center detent.
- Disengage all switches.
- Connect cords from the main outs to powered speakers (or to an amplifier connected to passive speakers).
- Push the line cord securely into the mixer's connector and plug the other end into a grounded AC outlet. The mixer may accept the appropriate voltage as indicated near the connector.
- Turn the mixer on.
- Turn the powered speakers (or amplifiers) on.
- Plug signal sources into the mixer, such as:
- Microphones plugged into the mic inputs. (Engage phantom power if needed.)
- Line-level sources such as keyboards, drum machines, or CD players plugged into the line-level inputs.
- Smartphone paired and connected via Bluetooth.
- Be sure that the volume of the input is the same as it would be during normal use.
- Engage the channel's L-R assign switch (PROFX12v3+) and turn up that channel's fader to the “U” (unity gain) position.
- Slowly bring up the main fader to a comfortable listening level.
- Repeat steps 9 to 11 for the other channels.
