These instructions are intended to ensure that the user can use the product correctly to avoid danger or property loss.
Laws and Regulations
Use of the product must be in strict compliance with the local electrical safety regulations.
Transportation
- Keep the device in original or similar packaging while transporting it.
- Keep all wrappers after unpacking them for future use. In case of any failure occurred, you need to return the device to the factory with the original wrapper. Transportation without the original wrapper may result in damage on the device and the company shall not take any responsibilities.
- Do not drop the product or subject it to physical shock. Keep the device away from magnetic interference.
Power Supply
- The input voltage should meet the Limited Power Source (5 VDC, 2 A) according to the IEC61010-1 standard. Please refer to technical specifications for detailed information.
- Make sure the plug is properly connected to the power socket.
- DO NOT connect multiple devices to one power adapter, to avoid over-heating or fire hazards caused by overload.
- Use the power adapter provided by a qualified manufacturer. Refer to the product specification for detailed power requirements.
Battery
- The built-in battery cannot be dismantled. Please contact the manufacturer for repair if necessary. The battery may explode if it is replaced by an incorrect type. Replace with the same or equivalent type only. Dispose of used batteries in conformance with the instructions provided by the battery manufacturer.
- For long-term storage of the battery, make sure it is fully charged every half year to ensure the battery quality. Otherwise, damage may occur.
- Make sure the plug is properly connected to the power socket.
- When the device is powered off and the battery is full, the time settings can be kept for 60 days.
- The standard adapter power supply is 5 V.
- The battery is certified by UL2054.
Maintenance
If the product does not work properly, please contact your dealer or the nearest service center. We shall not assume any responsibility for problems caused by unauthorized repair or maintenance.
Wipe the device gently with a clean cloth and a small quantity of ethanol, if necessary.
If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the device may be impaired.
Your camera will periodically perform a self-calibration to optimize image quality and measurement accuracy. In this process, the image will pause briefly and you will hear a "click" as a shutter moves in front of the detector. The self-calibration will be more frequent during startup or in very cold or hot environments. This is a normal part of operation to ensure optimum performance for your camera.

Using Environment
- Make sure the running environment meets the requirement of the device. The operating temperature shall be -10 °C to 50 °C (14 °F to 122 °F), and humidity shall be 95% or less.
- Place the device in a dry and well-ventilated environment.
- DO NOT expose the device to high electromagnetic radiation or dusty environments.
- DO NOT aim the lens at the sun or any other bright light.
- When any laser equipment is in use, make sure that the device lens is not exposed to the laser beam, or it may burn out.
- The device is suitable for indoor and outdoor uses, but do not expose it in wet conditions.
- The level of protection is IP 54.
- The pollution degree is 2.
Emergency
If smoke, odor, or noise arises from the device, immediately turn off the power, unplug the power cable, and contact the service center.
Laser Light Supplement Warning
Warning: The laser radiation emitted from the device can cause eye injuries, burning of skin or inflammable substances. Prevent eyes from direct laser. Before enabling the Light Supplement function, make sure no human or inflammable substances are in front of the laser lens. The wave length is 650 nm, and the power is less than 1 mW. The laser meets the IEC60825-1:2014 standard.
Laser maintenance: It is not necessary to maintain the laser regularly. If the laser does not work, the laser assembly needs to be replaced in the factory under warranty. Keep the device power off when replacing the laser assembly. Caution: Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

1 Introduction
1.1 Packing List

1.2 Product Introduction
The handheld thermal camera is a camera with thermal and optical images. The built-in high-sensitivity IR detector and high-performance sensor detects the temperature change and measures the real-time temperature. The handheld thermal camera is based on thermal technology, specially designed for temperature measuring applications. It allows users to quickly troubleshoot faults on-site.
1.3 Main Function
Temperature measurement: Detects and displays the real-time temperature on the screen.
Alarm: Outputs audible and visual alarms when the target's temperature exceeds a set threshold value.
SuperIR: Enhances image quality.
Client Software Connection: HIKMICRO Analyzer software can be downloaded from HIKMICRO Analyzer Software for offline analysis and professional reporting. The device can also cast real-time live view to a PC via UVC client software.
2 Appearance
2.1 Dimensions
The device dimensions are approximately 59 mm (2.32") width, 78 mm (3.07") depth, and 196 mm (7.72") height.
2.2 Components
The device features the following components:
- Screen: Displays images and menus.
- Charging Indicator: Shows charging status (Solid Red: Charging, Solid Green: Fully charged).
- Power/OK/Menu Button: Hold to power on/off. Press to display menu or confirm operations.
- Back Button: Exits menus or returns to the previous menu.
- Navigation Buttons (Up/Down): Used to select parameters in menus or switch image modes/palettes in live view.
- Type-C Interface: Used for charging the battery or exporting snapshots.
- Laser: Used for target locating.
- Thermal Lens: Captures thermal images.
- Optical Lens: Captures visual images (supported by certain models).
- Trigger: Captures snapshots. Can also be used to locate targets with the laser when held.
- Wrist Strap Hole: For attaching a wrist strap.
- Tripod Mount: UNC 1/4"-20 thread for mounting on a tripod.
Note: Appearance and button functions may vary by model. Optical lens availability is model-dependent.
Warning: Laser radiation can cause eye injuries. Do not stare into the beam. Ensure no human or flammable substances are in front of the laser lens before enabling the Light Supplement function. Wavelength: 650 nm, Power: <1 mW. Complies with IEC60825-1:2014.
3 Preparation
3.1 Charge Device
Steps:
- Lift the Type-C interface cover.
- Connect the device to a power supply using the Type-C cable.
Note: For the first charge, charge for over 3 hours, even when the device is turned on.
3.2 Power On/Off
Power On: Remove the lens cover and hold the [Power/OK/Menu] button for over six seconds.
Power Off: When the device is on, hold the [Power/OK/Menu] button for six seconds.
Set Auto Power-off Duration: Navigate to Settings > More Settings > Auto Power-off.
3.3 Live View
The live view interface displays real-time temperature, status icons, and measurement data. Key elements include:
- Time: Current time.
- Status Icons: Indicate device status.
- Real-time Temperature: Displays the temperature at the center of the screen.
- Max. Temperature Display: Shows the highest temperature detected.
- Min. Temperature Display: Shows the lowest temperature detected.
- Color Temperature Scale: Visual representation of temperature mapping.
- Unit: Displays the temperature unit (°C or °F).
- Distance: Shows the distance to the target.
- Emissivity: Displays the set emissivity value.
4 Display Settings
4.1 Set Image Mode
Select from different image modes (availability may vary by model):
- Thermal: Displays only the thermal image.
- Fusion: Combines optical and thermal images with clear edges.
- Visual: Displays only the visual image.
Note: For Fusion mode, adjust 'Parallax Correction' in Settings > Image Settings based on the target distance for optimal image alignment.
Self-Calibration: The camera performs periodic self-calibration for image quality and accuracy. This may cause a brief pause and a clicking sound.
4.2 Set Palettes
Choose from various color palettes to visualize temperature data. Palettes can be switched via Settings > Palettes or directly in live view using the [Down Arrow] button.
4.3 Set Level & Span
Adjust the display temperature range (Level & Span) to enhance image contrast. Options include Auto adjustment or Manual adjustment where you can lock/unlock and set min/max temperatures.
4.4 Display OSD Info
Enable on-screen display (OSD) for parameters like emissivity, distance, and the brand logo via Settings > Display Settings.
5 Temperature Measurement
The device measures and displays real-time scene temperatures. Information is shown on the top left of the screen.
5.1 Set Measurement Parameters
Improve measurement accuracy by configuring:
- Emissivity: Set custom or preset emissivity values for the target material.
- Distance: Set the distance between the device and the target.
- Unit: Select temperature unit (°C/°F) via Settings > More Settings > Unit.
- Temperature Range: Choose a specific range or use Auto Switch for automatic adjustment.
5.2 Set Image Measurement
Display temperature data for specific points:
- Hot Spot: Shows the maximum temperature.
- Cold Spot: Shows the minimum temperature.
- Center: Shows the temperature at the center of the screen.
Enable these via Settings > Display Settings.
5.3 Enhance High-Temperature Target
When enabled, targets exceeding a set temperature threshold will be highlighted in red. Configure this via Settings > Palettes > Above Alarm.
5.4 Set Temperature Alarm
Configure alarm rules and thresholds. The device will trigger an audible and visual alarm when the target temperature meets the set criteria. Access via Settings > Alarm.
6 Capture Snapshots
6.1 Capture One Image
Capture snapshots in live view by pressing the [Trigger] button. Holding the trigger activates the laser pointer for target acquisition before capturing.
Note: Laser can be toggled via Settings > More Settings > Laser. Snapshots cannot be captured when connected to a PC.
SuperIR: For higher resolution images, enable SuperIR before capturing (resolution is 4x higher).
Save Visual Image: Enable this option (if available) to save visual images separately.
6.2 View Snapshots
Access captured snapshots through the album: Navigate to Menu > Albums, select a picture, and press [OK Button] to view. Use navigation buttons to switch pictures or delete.
6.3 Export Snapshots
Connect the device to a PC via Type-C cable to copy and paste snapshot files.
Note: Ensure drivers are installed for the first connection. Do not disconnect the cable during driver installation.
7 Cast Screen
Stream the device's live view to a PC using UVC protocol-based client software. Connect the device to the PC with the Type-C cable and install the UVC client software. Access via Menu > More Settings > USB Cast Screen.
8 Maintenance
8.1 View Device Information
Access device details via Menu > More Settings > About.
8.2 Set Time and Date
Configure time and date via Menu > More Settings > Time and Date.
8.3 Format Storage
Format the device's storage before first use via Menu > More Settings > Format Storage.
8.4 Upgrade
Download the latest firmware from the official website. Connect the device to a PC, copy the upgrade file to the root directory, disconnect, and reboot the device for automatic upgrading.
8.5 Restore Device
Initialize the device and restore default settings via Menu > More Settings > Restore Device.

9.2 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: The charge indicator flashes red.
A: Check if the device is charged with the standard power adapter and ensure the environment temperature is above 0°C (32°F).

A: Verify that the device is not connected to a PC (disabling capture), check if storage space is full, or if the device battery is low.
