Safety Instructions
Laws and Regulations
Product use must comply strictly with local electrical safety regulations.
Transportation
Keep the device in its original packaging during transport. Retain wrappers for potential returns. Avoid dropping or subjecting the product to physical shock. Keep away from magnetic interference.
Power Supply
Use a charger meeting Limited Power Source (5 VDC, 300 mA) according to IEC61010-1. Ensure the plug is properly connected. Do not connect multiple devices to one power adapter to prevent overheating or fire hazards.
Battery
The built-in battery cannot be dismantled. Contact the manufacturer for repair. For long-term storage, charge the battery fully every six months. Ensure the plug is properly connected to the power socket. The standard adapter power supply is 5V. The battery is UL2054 certified.
Maintenance
If the product malfunctions, contact your dealer or service center. Unauthorized repair or maintenance is not covered. Gently wipe the device with a clean cloth and a small amount of ethanol if necessary. Using the equipment in a manner not specified by the manufacturer may impair its protection.
Using Environment
Ensure the operating environment meets device requirements: temperature -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F), humidity 95% or less. Avoid high electromagnetic radiation or dusty environments. Do not aim the lens at the sun or bright light. Keep the device lens away from laser beams.
The device is suitable for indoor and outdoor use but should not be exposed to wet conditions. Protection level is IP 54, pollution degree is 2.
Emergency
If smoke, odor, or noise occurs, immediately turn off the power, unplug the cable, and contact the service center.
Laser Light Supplement Warning
Warning: The laser radiation emitted can cause eye injuries, skin burns, or ignite flammable substances. Prevent direct laser exposure. Before enabling the Light Supplement function, ensure no human or flammable substances are in front of the laser lens. Wavelength: 650 nm, Power: <1 Mw. Meets IEC60825-1:2014 standard.
Laser maintenance is not required regularly. If the laser fails, the assembly needs factory replacement under warranty. Keep the device powered off during replacement. Use of controls or procedures other than specified may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

1 Introduction
1.1 Box Content

The Handheld Thermography Camera includes one battery and one Micro SD card.
1.2 Product Introduction
The HM-TP31-3AUF-E1L handheld Thermography camera captures thermal images and performs thermometry and snapshot capturing. Its built-in high-sensitivity IR detector and high-performance sensor detect temperature changes and measure real-time temperature, helping users identify risky parts and reduce property loss. The device supports live viewing and capturing. With an ergonomic design, it is easy to use and primarily applied in industries like Building, HVAC, and Auto.
2 Appearance
2.1 Dimensions
The device dimensions are approximately 59mm (width) x 196mm (height) x 78mm (depth). Dimensions may vary by camera model.
2.2 Interfaces
The device features a Screen, Charging Indicator, and control buttons: On/OK/Menu, Back, and Navigation buttons. The Navigation buttons are used to select parameters ([▲]/[▼]) and confirm ([OK]). The On/OK/Menu button is used to hold for Power On/Off, press for Display menu or confirm operation, and exit menu or return to previous menu.
Camera Components
The camera components include the Cover, USB Interface, Micro SD Slot, Laser, IR Lens, Trigger, and Tripod Interface. A warning sign is located under and on the left of the laser.
Charging Indicator: The LED indicator is red when charging and green when fully charged.
USB Interface: Used to charge the battery and export snapshots with the USB cable.
Trigger: Pull the trigger to capture snapshots. When the Laser function is active, pulling the trigger turns the laser light on/off.

3 Basic Operations
3.1 Charging the Device
Steps:
- Open the top cover of the camera.
- Connect the USB interface and the power adapter with USB cable.
For the first charge, charge the device for 48 to 72 hours when it is turned on.
3.2 Interface Description
The thermal interface displays the following information:

3.3 Format Micro SD Card
Before you start: Confirm the Micro SD card is properly installed.
Steps:
- In the live view interface, press the [OK] button to show the menu bar.
- Press the [▲]/[▼] buttons to select "Format Micro SD".
- Press the [OK] button and select "OK" to start formatting the Micro SD Card.
Format Micro SD Card before first use.
3.4 Capture Snapshots
Steps:
- In the live view interface, pull the trigger to capture a snapshot. The live view freezes, and the device displays the snapshot with temperature information.
- Press the [OK] button to save the picture, or press the [Cancel] button to cancel it.
You cannot capture when the device is connected with a PC.
3.5 View Snapshots
Steps:
- Go to Menu > Picture to view captured snapshots.
- Press the [OK] button to view the selected picture, or press the [▲]/[▼] buttons to switch pictures.
- (Optional) Press the [OK] button to delete a picture in the picture view interface.
3.6 Export File
Purpose: Connect the handheld Thermography camera to your PC via USB cable to export captured snapshots.
Steps:
- Open the USB cover.
- Connect the camera to your PC with the USB cable and open the detected disk.
- Select and copy the snapshots to your PC to view the files.
- Disconnect the device from your PC.
For the first connection, the driver will be installed automatically. Do not disconnect the USB connection or remove the Micro SD card during driver installation to avoid device damage.
3.7 Upgrade
Steps:
- Connect the handheld Thermography camera to your PC with a USB cable and open the detected disk.
- Copy the upgrade file and replace it in the root directory of the device.
- Disconnect the device from your PC.
- Reboot the device; it will upgrade automatically. The upgrading process will be displayed in the main interface.
After upgrading, the device automatically reboots. You can view the current version in Menu > About.
4 Main Configurations
4.1 Temperature Measurement
Purpose: The thermometry function provides real-time temperature of the scene, displayed on the screen. It is turned on by default. Thermometry parameters affect measurement accuracy.
Steps:
- In the live view interface, press the [OK] button to show the menu bar.
- Press the [▲]/[▼] buttons to select the desired setting bar.
- Press the [OK] button to go to the setting interface.
- Emissivity: Set the emissivity of your target for effectiveness in emitting thermal radiation. Refer to Section 6.1 for common material emissivity values.
- Temperature: Set the average temperature of the environment.
- Distance (m/feet): Set the straight-line distance between the target and the device. The recommended distance is 0.2 m to 2 m with a target size of 80 x 80 mm.
- Rule: Select Hot Spot or Cold Spot to display the max. and min. temperatures in the live view interface.
Steps for setting parameters:
- Press the [▲]/[▼] buttons to select the desired parameter, and press [OK] to enable it.
- If necessary, press the [▲]/[▼] buttons to increase/decrease setting values. Hold the [▲]/[▼] buttons to change the value quickly.
- Press the [OK] button to save and exit.
4.2 Other Configurations
Example: Setting the laser light function:
Steps:
- In the live view interface, press the [OK] button to show the menu bar.
- Press the [▲]/[▼] buttons to select "Laser".
- Press the [OK] button to turn the laser light function on/off.
- Press the [OK] button to save and exit.
In live view, pull the trigger to turn on the laser light; release the trigger to turn it off.
Other parameters like temperature measurement range, unit, and palettes can be configured following similar steps.
5 System Information
Go to Menu > About to view device information such as Model, Version No., FPGA Version No., Serial No., and Capacity. You can also set auto power-off duration, date, and time in the Menu.

6.2 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: The charge indicator flashes red.
A: Check the following:
- Ensure the device is charged with the standard power adapter.

A: Check the following:
- Verify if the device is connected to your PC, which might make the capture function unavailable.
