Product Safety and Warnings
- The Dogtra YS600 is intended solely for preventing dogs from barking. It is not designed for use on humans or other living beings. Dogtra assumes no liability for improper use of a Dogtra anti-bark collar.
- Wearing the device for an extended period in the same spot on the neck can cause skin irritation in the dog. If the dog is to wear the anti-bark collar for an extended period, remove it occasionally and reapply it so that the contacts touch a different area of the skin. Regularly check the dog for skin irritations.
- The YS600 must be fitted correctly to function properly. Both contacts must touch the dog's skin. If the collar is fitted too loosely, the impulse felt by the dog will be inconsistent, and the collar may slip on the dog's neck, causing skin irritation due to rubbing of the contacts.
- The YS600 is not suitable for dogs weighing less than 15 kg (33 lbs) or less than 6 months old.
- Remove the YS600 before playing with the dog. During play, the dog might bark and then associate the electrical stimulation with the game.
- Monitor your dog's activity and impulse delivery when using the YS600. When removing the collar from your dog, first ensure that the dog is calm and not barking. First turn off the device and then remove it to avoid accidental activation of the device.

Stimulation Level Dial & On/Off Switch
The Stimulation Level Dial & On/Off Switch is used to turn the device on/off and select the stimulation level.
- To turn off the device, set the dial to '•'.
- To select the impulse-free vibration mode, set the dial to 'P'.
- The device has stimulation levels 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). At each stimulation level, the device vibrates before delivering an impulse.
- To test the device, set the dial to 'T' and follow the instructions in the 'Test Function' section to check if the device is functioning correctly.
Stimulation Level Dial | Function |
---|---|
• | Off |
P | Impulse-free Vibration |
1~10 | Stimulation Level |
T | Test |
Note: For first use, it is recommended to start with the lowest intensity level. If the dog continues to bark, continuously increase the intensity level. Carefully observe your dog's reaction to find the correct intensity level.
LED Indicator
The LED indicator blinks for 1 second when the device is turned on, and then blinks every 4 seconds. If the dog does not bark for more than 30 seconds, the device enters power-saving mode and the LED indicator turns off to conserve battery. The device automatically reactivates as soon as the dog barks again. Before the device enters power-saving mode, the LED indicator blinks green when the battery is fully charged and orange when the battery is almost discharged. If the LED indicator blinks red, the battery needs to be charged.

Bark Control Indicator
The bark control indicator blinks when the device is turned off if the dog has barked excessively.
- Without excessive barking: When turning off the device, the LED indicator lights up red for 2 seconds.
- After excessive barking: When turning off the device, the LED indicator blinks green for 10 seconds. Excessive barking may indicate that the selected stimulation level is too low.
Note: Before increasing the stimulation level, check that the collar is fitted correctly and both contacts touch the dog's skin.
Operating Modes
- Impulse-free Vibration "Pager" (P)
The YS600 vibrates twice when the dog barks. In 'P' mode, no impulse is delivered.
- Stimulation Levels (1-10)
When the dog barks, the device vibrates and delivers an impulse.
Note: The minimum time interval between two impulses or two vibrations in 'P' mode is 4 seconds.
Test Function
To test the YS600, follow these steps:
- Set the dial to 'T'. The LED indicator will now blink every 4 seconds.
- Scratch the sensor between the contacts with the plastic cap of a ballpoint pen. If the device functions correctly, it will vibrate twice.
Note: In Test mode, the sensor is set to high sensitivity to simplify the test. In Test mode, no electrical impulse is delivered.
Charging the Battery
To charge the YS600 battery:
- Open the rubber cover of the YS600 charging port and insert the charger cable.
- Plug the charger into a 220V power outlet.
- During charging, the LED indicator lights up red. The indicator turns green once the battery is fully charged after 2 hours.
Note: Only use Dogtra chargers designed for the YS600. Using a different charger can damage the YS600.
Charger Information
- Manufacturer: HON-KWANG
- Country of Manufacture: CHINA
- Model Name: HK-AP-050A100-EU
- INPUT: 100~240V~50/60Hz 0.2A / OUTPUT: 5V 1.0A
Caution: During charging, the device must be near the power outlet for safety reasons, and the power outlet must be easily accessible.
Fitting the Collar
The YS600 anti-bark collar must be fitted correctly for the device to function optimally. If the collar is too loose, this can lead to rubbing of the contacts against the dog's skin and cause skin irritations. The collar must be fitted snugly enough so that only one or two fingers can fit between the contacts and the dog's skin. The device should not be able to slide on the collar.
Caution: Remove any other collar when using the anti-bark device. Other collars or harnesses could rub against the anti-bark collar and accidentally activate it.
To properly fit the collar, place it around the dog's neck with the contacts positioned centrally. Ensure the contacts make firm, consistent contact with the dog's skin, but not so tight as to cause discomfort. A good fit allows two fingers to slide comfortably under the strap.
Troubleshooting Guide
1. My dog does not react to the anti-bark collar.
- Ensure the device is turned on.
- The collar must be fitted snugly enough so that both contacts touch the dog's skin.
- Perhaps the contacts are too short for your dog's coat type. To order longer contacts, contact Dogtra-Europe or your Dogtra dealer. If longer contacts are already in use, trimming the hair in the dog's neck area can help ensure the contacts lie well on the skin.
- The stimulation level might be too weak for your dog. Slowly increase the stimulation level until the dog shows a reaction.
2. My device does not hold a charge.
- The charging pin might be damaged. Inside the charging port, there should be a metal pin that stands straight up and in the middle. If the pin wobbles, is broken, or missing, the device should be sent to Dogtra-Europe's repair department immediately.
- The charging port should be cleaned before charging. Cleaning with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol is recommended. If the dog has been in saltwater, clean the receiver and the charging port with clear water.
- If a Dogtra device is older than two years, battery performance may decrease. In this case, the batteries can be replaced. Replacement can be performed by the owner after consulting Dogtra-Europe. Damage to the device caused by improper battery replacement is not covered by the warranty. Dogtra-Europe recommends sending the device in for inspection.
3. My dog has skin irritation.
- The cause can be improper fitting of the collar. If your dog shows skin irritation, contact your veterinarian. Once the skin condition has normalized, continue using the training collar and check your dog's skin after each use.
