Your "Spread Spectrum" Transmitters
The transmitters use advanced and secure radio frequency transmission. Spread Spectrum technology shifts frequencies, making it impossible for thieves to grab and rebroadcast your code. If a transmitter button is pressed more than fifty times while out of range, it may need to be re-aligned. To re-align, press the lock/unlock button twice within one second. The transmitter will then respond normally.
The LED transceiver on the receiver will respond with an LED flash when a command is issued and received. The LED will flash to confirm the function executed (Lock, Unlock, Trunk, Remote Start). For Remote Start, the LED will flash once every second while the vehicle is running under remote control.
Keyless Entry
To lock your vehicle, exit and close all doors, hood, and trunk, then press the lock button on your transmitter. To unlock, press the unlock button. The parking lights will flash once for lock and twice for unlock. If optional illuminated entry is added, the interior light turns on for 30 seconds or until ignition is on. Holding the lock/unlock button for 3 seconds activates car finder mode (parking lights flash, optional horn beeps for 30 seconds). Pressing the button again or any other transmitter button cancels this mode.
Note: This system can be programmed to unlock the driver's door first, then all other doors on a second press. It can also be programmed to automatically lock/unlock doors with the ignition key. Consult your installation center for details.
Optional Remote Functions (Channels 3-7)
The system supports additional functions via optional accessories connected to channels 3 through 7.
Channel 3
Common uses include Remote Trunk Release, Remote Window Closure, or Remote Garage Door Interface. Activate by pressing and holding the trunk/key button on the transmitter for four seconds. This function is always activated using the same button that remotely starts the vehicle.
Channel 4
Can be set up to activate the rear window defogger during remote start (if equipped), Remote Window Closure, or Rear Hatch Release. Activate by pressing the option button on the transmitter. The accessory will immediately engage.
Channel 5
Common uses include Remote Trunk Release, Remote Window Closure, Rear Hatch Release, or control of Right/Left Slider Doors in equipped vans. Activate by pressing the option button on the transmitter.
Channel 6
Common uses include Rear Hatch Release, control of Right/Left Slider Doors in equipped vans, or Driver Priority Settings in vehicles so equipped. Activate by pressing the option button on the transmitter.
Channel 7
Common uses include Rear Hatch Release, control of Right/Left Slider Doors in equipped vans, Second Driver Priority Settings in vehicles so equipped. Activate by pressing the option button on the transmitter.
Note: If your system uses the shown transmitter, the second option button may be configured for additional accessories. Consult your installing retailer for details.
Valet Override, Programming & Safety Control Switch
The Push-Button LED switch on the receiver allows temporary disabling of the remote starting function, recommended for vehicle servicing.
To Place System in Service Mode:
- With the system disarmed, unlocked, and ignition switch OFF, press and hold the Push-Button on the windshield receiver.
- Turn the ignition switch ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
- The LED begins to flash two short flashes followed by one long flash, indicating the system is in Remote Start Override mode and will not start remotely.
To Exit Service Mode:
- With the system disarmed, press and hold the Push-Button on the windshield receiver.
- Turn the ignition switch ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
- The LED turns OFF, indicating the system is fully functional again.
Turbo Timer Operation
This system can cool down a vehicle's turbocharger by allowing the engine to run for a prescribed period after ignition is turned off. This feature requires setup during installation.
To Activate the Turbo Timer:
- Ensure the ignition key has been in the ON position for more than 15 seconds.
- Place the gear selector in PARK.
- Set the parking brake.
- Ensure your foot is OFF the brake pedal.
- Press the receiver program Push-Button twice within 3 seconds. The parking lights will flash twice, indicating the mode was successfully entered.
If parking lights flash four times, it indicates turbo mode was ON and is now OFF.
With turbo timer selected ON, after arriving at your destination, while the engine is running, set the parking brake, pause 2 seconds, then turn the ignition switch OFF. The engine will continue to run for the programmed time.
To prevent the vehicle from running for one cycle, step on the brake, release the parking brake, or activate the transmitter's start button twice in succession.
Remote Starting the Vehicle
The system WILL NOT start the vehicle if:
- The vehicle hood is opened.
- The gear selector is in any gear other than PARK.
- The brake is depressed.
- The system is in the remote start override mode.
WARNING! Be certain that the vehicle is outdoors before using this or any remote vehicle starting device. A running engine produces dangerous carbon monoxide fumes which can be harmful or fatal if prolonged exposure occurs. Do NOT remote start the vehicle if the car is garaged.
To Remote Start the Vehicle:
- Press and release the trunk/key button of your keychain transmitter two times within 2 seconds.
The vehicle will start and remain running for the pre-programmed time. Parking lights will flash or turn on as programmed. The LED on the transmitter will flash every second while the vehicle is running under remote control.
When you arrive at your vehicle, unlock it, enter, and turn the ignition key to the ON position.
CAUTION! Do not turn the key to the START position. This will cause the starter motor to engage with the already running engine, which could result in damage. Step on the brake pedal to disengage the remote start unit. The vehicle will continue to run on its own power.
Engine Stop Conditions:
The engine will stop running before the programmed run timer expires if:
- The trunk/key button is pressed and released twice within 2 seconds.
- The brake pedal is depressed.
- The hood is opened.
- The system is placed in Remote Start Override Mode.
- The engine RPM exceeds 4000 RPM.
Automatic Start Timer Operation
The system can automatically start the vehicle every 2 or 4 hours over a 48-hour period, useful for keeping engine fluids warm in cold climates.
WARNING! Be certain that the vehicle is outdoors before using this or any remote vehicle starting device. A running engine produces dangerous carbon monoxide gases which can be harmful or fatal if prolonged exposure occurs. Do NOT remote start the vehicle if the car is garaged.
To Begin the Automatic Start Up Timer:
- Turn the ignition key ON, then OFF.
- Within 10 seconds, activate the RF start command (trunk/key button) two times.
The parking lights will flash 3 times, indicating the timed start mode is activated. The vehicle will start, run for the programmed time, and shut off, repeating this cycle for 48 hours.
To Initiate from Keychain Transmitter:
- Start the vehicle using the keychain transmitter (press and release trunk/key button twice within 2 seconds).
- Shut off the vehicle using the keychain transmitter (press and release trunk/key button twice within 2 seconds).
- Within 10 seconds of step 2, activate the RF start command (trunk/key button) two times.
The parking lights will flash, and the siren will chirp 3 times, indicating the timed start mode is activated.
Canceling the Automatic Start Up Timer:
Perform any of the following:
- Start the vehicle manually with the ignition key and depress the brake pedal.
- Remote start the vehicle using your keychain RF transmitter.
- Shut off the vehicle using the keychain transmitter (press and release trunk/key button twice within 2 seconds).
Telematic Upgrade
This system can accommodate a telematic upgrade module, allowing control of vehicle functions via telephone or computer. Consult your installation center for available upgrades and their operator manuals.
Programmed Transmitter Notification (PTN)
Each time the ignition key is turned ON after disarming, the unit's LED will report the number of transmitters programmed into the system. Typically, it flashes twice (indicating two programmed transmitters). Additional flashes may indicate an unauthorized transmitter. If the pattern changes, erase and reprogram transmitters to remove unauthorized ones.
