1. Safety Information
- 1.1 Ensure seals are in place and in good condition before fitting the gas cylinder.
- 1.2 Never use an appliance with damaged or worn seals, or a leaking, damaged, or malfunctioning appliance.
- 1.3 Always change or fit the gas cylinder in a safe place, ONLY OUTSIDE, away from ignition sources (naked flames, pilot lights, electric fires) and people.
- 1.4 Check gas soundness outdoors using soapy water only. NEVER USE A FLAME TO CHECK FOR LEAKS.
- 1.5 If a leakage occurs, be extra careful and ventilate the area. LP Gas is heavier than air and can accumulate in low-lying areas.
- 1.6 Never leave the torch unattended when lit.
- 1.7 This appliance consumes oxygen and must only be used in well-ventilated areas (minimum 177 ft³/h). Avoid fumes from fluxes, lead-based paint, and metal heating operations.
- 1.8 Use the appliance at a safe distance from walls and combustible materials. Ensure no unintended surfaces or materials are heated, as heat can conduct to adjacent combustible materials.
- 1.9 Be careful outdoors on sunny or windy days. Bright light can obscure the flame, and wind can redirect heat.
- 1.10 Never use the appliance under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substances.
- 1.11 Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
- 1.12 Failure to follow these instructions may cause property damage, personal injuries, or death.
2. Handling the Appliance
- 2.1 Be aware that the burner tip can become exceptionally hot during use. Avoid touching hot parts during and after use.
- 2.2 Do not misuse the appliance or use it for unintended purposes.
- 2.3 Handle the appliance with care; do not drop, throw, or abuse it.
- 2.4 Never attempt to modify the torch's construction or use unapproved accessories or fuels.
- 2.5 Always wear protective gloves and safety glasses when handling hot work.
- 2.6 Ensure the torch is placed on a level surface when connected to the gas cylinder to reduce the risk of accidental tip-over. Avoid pointing the torch towards objects that could ignite when setting it down.
- 2.7 Be careful not to overheat nearby materials.
- 2.8 Always have a fire extinguisher nearby when using the appliance.
- 2.9 Using the torch with a low flame can damage the burner tube; use low flame only for limited periods.
- 2.10 Storage: Always disconnect the gas cylinder when not in use. Store the gas cylinder in a safe, dry, cool place away from heat, direct sunlight, and out of reach of children or untrained persons. Never store gas cylinders in basements or underground.
3. Assembling the Appliance
- 3.1 Ensure the appliance is cool when connecting or disconnecting the cylinder and accessories (See Fig. B).
- 3.2 Ensure the control knob (1) is turned off (fully clockwise).
- 3.3 Keep the gas cylinder (5) upright when fitting it to the appliance valve.
- 3.4 Place the valve correctly onto the gas cylinder valve (as shown in Fig. B).
- 3.5 Gently screw the gas cylinder into the valve. Be careful not to cross-thread. NOTE: Screw hand-tight only. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the gas cylinder valve.
- 3.6 Ensure a complete gas seal is made. Check for leaks outdoors using warm soapy water on joints and connections. Bubbles indicate leakage. If in doubt, or if you smell or hear gas, do not attempt to light. Unscrew the cylinder and contact your local dealer.

5. Operating the Appliance
5.1 SUPERFIRE PRO™
- 5.1.1 Point the appliance away from your body and flammable objects. Never look into the burner tube.
- 5.1.2 Turn the control knob (1) counter-clockwise to open the valve, then press the trigger (2) to ignite the burner.
- 5.1.3 Keep the trigger compressed and adjust the flame size by turning the control knob (1). The flame extinguishes automatically when the trigger is released.
- 5.1.4 The gas control knob (1) should be shut when the torch is not in use to prevent accidental ignition during transit.
5.2 QUICKFIRE PRO™
- 5.2.1 Point the appliance away from your body and flammable objects. Never look into the burner tube.
- 5.2.2 Turn the control knob (1) counter-clockwise to open the valve, then press the trigger (2) to ignite the burner.
- 5.2.3 Keep the trigger compressed. To maintain optimal (low) burner tip temperature on the QUICKFIRE PRO™'s cool tip, use the torch at full or near-full adjustment. CAUTION: Using the torch on low gas flow will result in the burner tip becoming extremely hot.
- 5.2.4 The gas control knob (1) should be shut when the torch is not in use to prevent accidental ignition during transit.
5.3 Features
- The ROTHENBERGER SUPERFIRE PRO™ and QUICKFIRE PRO™ are equipped with a trigger lock (3). Push the locking button inwards after pressing the trigger (2) (See Fig. A). To release, press the trigger (2) again.
- As an additional safety feature, the SUPERFIRE PRO™ is equipped with a non-return valve that opens only when a burner tip is fitted, preventing unintended gas release.
- The appliance has a built-in regulator that controls pressure and reduces the risk of pulsating or yellow flames when used other than upright. Pulsating or yellow flames may occur if: (a) the gas cylinder temperature is low, (b) the gas cylinder is almost empty, (c) higher gas-consuming burner tips are used, or (d) the burner is used other than upright for an extended period. It is recommended to start with a gas cylinder at room temperature and keep the appliance upright as much as possible.

- Unscrew the gas cylinder from the valve. Do not use the appliance if seals are cracked or worn. Avoid cross-threading by placing the valve onto the gas cylinder screw thread straight and screw on hand-tight only, as described in section 3.
7. After Use
- 7.1 Ensure the valve is completely shut by turning the control knob (1) fully clockwise until it stops. Do not use excessive force.
- 7.2 Unscrew the torch from the gas cylinder. Always remove the gas cylinder from the torch when not in use.
- 7.3 Point the torch in a safe direction and press the trigger (2) to release any residual gas in the torch.
