Operating Instructions
Use a screwdriver to adjust the temperature setting to your requirement. The pilot light will flash regularly when the pre-set temperature has been reached.
Soldering Tips
For optimal soldering results:
- Ensure components and circuit boards are clean and pretinned.
- The soldering tip should be well tinned.
- Preferably, select a temperature below 325°C.
Tip Cleaning
- Disconnect the soldering iron from the power supply.
- Clean the area to be tinned to remove any oxide. Use the metal brush (Ref. CL6217) and sponge (Ref. S6169), or very fine sandpaper. Be careful not to damage the protective surface coating of the long-life tip.
- Only use deionised water (e.g., car battery water) to wet the sponge. Using normal water may cause the tip to become dirty due to dissolved salts.
Tip Changing
Use the tip removal device (Ref. 0114108) as shown in Figure 1.
- Remove the ring to release the tip.
- Pull the soldering iron lengthwise to remove the tip. Do not force the heating element.
- Before fitting the new tip, clean the part of the heating element covered by the tip to remove grime and facilitate fitting.
- Insert the new tip, ensuring it is fully seated.

How JBC Long-Life Tips are Manufactured
JBC long-life tips are constructed with a copper core, surrounded by layers of iron, nickel, chromium, and finally tin plating. These protective layers prevent solder from contacting the copper base, thus preventing damage and extending the tip's lifespan by 10 to 20 times compared to conventional copper tips, while maintaining their original shape without wear deformation.

Tip Types
- High Thermal Performance (Ref. HT): These tips offer excellent heat transmission but are less durable than armoured long-life tips.

English: The JBC 2-year warranty covers manufacturing defects, including replacement of defective parts and necessary labor. It does not cover wear due to use or misuse. For warranty service, return the equipment postage paid to the dealer where it was purchased. Complies with CE Standards.
