Press Information from LIEBHERR
SCHOLPP Kran & Transport GmbH from Stuttgart took delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 mobile crane at the manufacturing plant in Ehingen, Germany, in March 2016. This delivery, announced on April 21, 2016, marks the replacement of an older crane of the same model. Martin Scholpp, Managing Director, expressed satisfaction with the LTM 1350-6.1, noting the inclusion of new technologies like VarioBase® and a Stage 4 emissions-compliant engine.
Immediately after collection, the new LTM 1350-6.1 was deployed to the "Stuttgart 21" construction site. Its task involved installing twenty wastewater pipes, each weighing 12 tonnes, near the Central Station. This operation required high precision, with radii between 15 and 42 metres. The crane was set up with 100 tonnes of ballast to meet these demanding requirements.
Stephan Burkhardt, Operations Director and Branch Manager at Stuttgart, praised the Liebherr 6-axle machine, calling the LTM 1350-6.1 "the perfect crane." He highlighted its power, flexibility, 70-metre telescopic boom, and the simple self-assembly process for guying. The customer for the crane's initial job even postponed the work date by a week to ensure the LTM 1350-6.1 was available.
The LTM 1350-6.1 is part of a larger order of six new Liebherr mobile cranes for SCHOLPP. This package also includes one LTM 1070-4.2, two LTM 1100-4.2 machines, and one LTM 1130-5.1. Additionally, two LTM 1060-3.1 cranes were scheduled for delivery within the first six months of 2016.
A primary reason for SCHOLPP's continued choice of Liebherr mobile cranes was the VarioBase® variable supporting base. This pioneering system, developed by Liebherr, was included in all ordered cranes. Martin Scholpp considers VarioBase® to be the most significant innovation in mobile crane and safety technology in recent years.
SCHOLPP is celebrating its 60th anniversary. With a fleet of 75 vehicle units, including fifty cranes, SCHOLPP is a leading provider in the Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, and Heilbronn regions. The company employs 120 people and is currently training twelve new crane drivers. SCHOLPP's in-house training and modern fleet enable it to consistently deliver "Tailor-made work with very heavy loads."
