From front to rear, everything in the Tiguan is designed to meet your needs. The rear seats split 40:20:40 and each side can be moved lengthways, giving you various loading options. The rear seats feature a load-through provision and when they're folded down and the rear bench is in the forward position, there's an impressive loading capacity of up to 1,655 litres. 3Zone electronic air conditioning with air intensity control and automatic air recirculation ensures a pleasant interior temperature to suit the individual preference of driver, front passenger and rear seat passengers. Rear passengers are able to make adjustments via an electronic control panel conveniently located to the rear of the front centre armrest. Car-Net 'Security & Service' acts as your personal assistant supporting you in every driving situation and providing you with all the key information you need regarding your mobility. An integrated SIM-card provides continuous connectivity and interaction between the driver, vehicle and Volkswagen's call centre or server. In the event of an accident, should the driver activate the 'eCall' button or the airbags are deployed triggering the 'eCall' service, Volkswagen's Emergency Centre will be contacted directly. Key information such as the condition and location of the vehicle will be sent to emergency response units. In the event of minor incidents, the 'Automatic accident notification' can send location and vehicle details to the Volkswagen Emergency Centre should the driver wish. Car-Net 'Guide and Inform' includes 3-year's online navigation software updates enabling you to download the latest map data to keep you up-to-date. The Volkswagen Car-Net Destination Import allows you to search for destinations from the comfort of your home or office and send them directly to your Tiguan's navigation system. Simply log into the Volkswagen Car-Net portal, click 'Online destination import' and search for wherever you wish to go. Find your destination, save it, name it, and then send it to your Tiguan's navigation system. Your named destinations will then be displayed under 'My Destinations' on the main navigation display screen, it's that easy. You can also similarly send your 'Personal points of interest' from your computer or tablet and download them to your Tiguan's navigation system and they will appear on the navigation screen as you drive. Driver's Assistance Systems

For example, the fully configurable Active Info Display or the innovative Head-up Display. Once comfortably seated, all displays and functions can be optimally viewed and reached thanks to the ergonomically arranged centre console that is perfectly angled towards the driver.

The Active Info Display provides a system that can be tailored to suit your exact preferences. The fully configurable, interactive 10.3 inch TFT display replaces the standard analogue instrument cluster, displaying vehicle data and information on your dashboard. Five different modes allow you to customise the screen, with large or small dials as you prefer and a number of items displayed behind. When used in navigation mode in conjunction with the Discover Navigation or Discover Navigation Pro systems, you can move the speedometer and rev counter to the edge of the display, creating more space for the navigational map. If you wish, you are able to include driving, navigation and assistance functions within the graphics of the speedometer. As the Active Info Display is linked to all other assistance systems in the vehicle, any data shown in the centre console of the infotainment system, such as phone numbers or your music's compatible cover art, can also be displayed on the dash conveniently placed directly within the driver's optimum field of vision. The Head-up Display rises from its position behind the dashboard into the driver's primary field of vision at the press of a button. Driving information, including current speed, navigation details and traffic data, is projected onto the retractable screen and transparently displayed, helping to reduce the amount of time that the driver's eyes are averted from the road. Front and rear parking sensors assist parking manoeuvres by emitting both audible and visual signals, alerting the driver to any obstacles in the way. The closer you are to an obstacle the faster the sound frequency, while an optical parking display indicates your position in relation to obstacles on the screen of the vehicle's infotainment system. Standard on Match models and above. Optional on S models.

The Park Assist system not only makes parallel parking easier, but also helps you reverse park into a space at 90 degrees to the kerb. Using ultrasonic sensors, Park Assist will detect a parking space large enough for either bay or parallel parking. Once the vehicle is in reverse, all the driver has to do is operate the accelerator and brake, and keep a lookout, while the Tiguan steers itself into its chosen space. Standard on Match and R-Line Tech models. Optional on all other models.

The Tiguan effortlessly tows a trailer or caravan and, depending on your choice of engine, can tow up to a maximum weight of 2.5 tons. Trailer Assist including Park Assist and rear-view camera helps you reverse more easily and accurately with a trailer or caravan hitched. The optical display visualises actual and possible steering angles in the instrument cluster. Reverse steering is automatic, with direction controlled via the mirror adjustment switch which acts as a joystick, while the driver controls the pedals and keeps a good look out. The rear-view camera displays the area behind your vehicle on the screen of the vehicle's infotainment system, helping you to manoeuvre into tight spaces quickly and easily. Auxiliary lines help you navigate safely into parking spaces, and thanks to the high resolution display, even small obstacles such as kerbs are visible. Standard on Match models. Optional on S and SEL models.

Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) allows you to select Sport, Comfort or Normal settings for your journey with a touch of a button, and adapts the damping control and shock absorption rate to the road conditions and driving style you require within milliseconds. With its numerous intelligent technologies and driver assistance systems, the Tiguan provides a reassuring and confident driving experience even in the most challenging driving situations.

Lane Assist is a camera controlled warning system that warns you if your vehicle drifts out of its lane helping to reduce the chance of an accident and helping to make long motorway journeys safer. Using a camera located in the rear-view mirror unit, it monitors the road markings and prevents unintentional lane deviations. The system only intervenes if the indicators are not used, so if you decide to change lanes and indicate, the intelligent system recognises this and switches off. Standard on all models.

High Beam Assist ingeniously senses the lights from oncoming vehicles and automatically switches between dipped and main beam accordingly. It also senses vehicles you are approaching from the rear and ensures your main beam is dipped in order to avoid dazzling the vehicle in front. Standard on Match models. Optional on S models.

Area view with Park Assist. Four separate cameras, located in the rear tailgate, door mirrors and radiator grille, provide a 360-degree view around the Tiguan, helping you to manoeuvre with confidence in any direction. The driver can select up to twelve possible views of the vehicle, from the front, rear or side, on either full or split-screen displayed on the infotainment system's screen. Should you specify the optional Discover Navigation Pro system, you will also gain a bird's-eye view around your Tiguan. Not in conjunction with rear-view camera. Standard on R-Line Tech models. The Front Assist monitoring system combines Predictive Pedestrian Protection with City Emergency Braking, alerting you if it detects vehicles or pedestrians at the edge of the road or on the carriageway, via acoustic and optical signals, as well as a gentle application of the brakes. The system even performs an emergency stop should the distance become critical, helping to protect other road users and possibly avert potential accidents. Standard on all models.

The Emergency Assist system monitors the driver's inputs, such as acceleration, braking and steering and helps, within the system's limits, to possibly prevent accidents. The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Assist work hand in hand with this. If the driver fails to respond, the system prompts the driver, by means of gentle brake application, to correct the steering and automatically applies the brakes. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) monitors the distance to the vehicle ahead while Lane Assist ensures the vehicle stays within its lane. Emergency Assist alerts other road users by means of hazard warning lights and safely brakes the vehicle to a complete standstill if necessary. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), including Front Assist radar sensor controlled distance monitoring system, City emergency braking system, cruise control and speed limiter offers you intelligent control of your driving speed by automatically adjusting acceleration and braking. Whether around town or on the motorway, the system will adjust your speed to that of the vehicle in front, keep your specified distance, warn if you are approaching too fast and, in an emergency situation, generate enough braking force to try to reduce the severity of a collision or possibly even prevent the collision entirely. Side Scan provides assistance if you want to change lanes from speeds of 37mph upwards. Sensors in the rear of the vehicle monitor the traffic and should they detect any road users in your blind spot or vehicles approaching quickly from behind, the system will alert you via a warning light within the door mirror housing and an audible warning within the vehicle. The parking assistant monitors the area behind and next to your vehicle, alerting you if it detects a vehicle or object, and automatically instigating an emergency stop if a collision is imminent. Thanks to keyless entry with electrically-operated tailgate opening operation, providing you have the key on you, it simply takes a flick of the foot under the rear of the vehicle to open the electric tailgate.

Area view provides a 360-degree display of your Tiguan in the infotainment display, transmitting information via four cameras to the front, the sides and the rear, enabling you to view areas that are difficult to see from the driver's seat - very useful when there is limited space to manoeuvre. Also included with Area view is Park Assist which helps you parallel and bay park using ultrasonic and audible parking sensors. AdBlue®

Your Volkswagen car is fitted with an advanced emissions control system that helps your vehicle meet EURO 6 exhaust gas regulations. AdBlue®, a water/urea based additive, is stored in a tank and injected into the exhaust system to convert polluting oxides of nitrogen (NOx) into harmless oxygen and nitrogen through a process called Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). SCR is only applicable to diesel engines. The more economically you drive, the less AdBlue® you will use.

The AdBlue® tank size varies by model. The Tiguan has an 18-litre AdBlue® tank located next to the fuel filler nozzle. Warnings for low AdBlue® levels will be displayed in the driver information system, starting when approximately 1,500 miles remain. If warnings are ignored, the car will not restart once the ignition is turned off. It is recommended to use a Volkswagen Authorised repairer for AdBlue® top-ups.

The Volkswagen Warranty:

• Three-year Warranty: Covers most technical and electrical components against manufacturing defects for three years/60,000 miles.
• Body Protection Warranty: 12 years against rusting through from the inside.
• Three-year Paintwork Warranty: Covers new cars against manufacturing defects in paintwork.

• Fixed Service: Recommended for vehicles covering less than 10,000 miles annually or used predominantly for short, urban journeys. Oil change every 1 year or 10,000 miles. Inspection service every 1 or 2 years.
• Flexible Service: Recommended for vehicles with daily mileage over 25 miles, mainly used for longer distance journeys. Service intervals vary between 10,000 and 20,000 miles or 24 months between oil changes.
