How to Wear
- Try Different Sizes for a Perfect Fit and Audio Performance: The earbuds come with S, M, and L size ear tips. Choose the size that provides the most comfortable and secure fit.
- Insert and Adjust: Place the earbuds into your ears. Turn them when slotted in your ears to find the most optimal wear position. The earbuds should be worn when testing for fit.
First Time Use
Place both JBL Live Free 2 TWS earbuds into the charging case. The earbuds will indicate their charging status.
Power On & Connect
To power on and connect your JBL Live Free 2 TWS earbuds:
- Open the charging case. The earbuds will automatically enter pairing mode.
- For Android™ 6.0+ users (Fast Pair): A notification will appear on your device. Tap to pair. The device will be tied to your Google Account.
- For other devices: Go to your device's Bluetooth settings. Ensure Bluetooth is ON. Select "JBL LIVE FREE 2 TWS" from the list of available devices to connect.
Dual Connect + Sync
The JBL Live Free 2 TWS earbuds support both stereo and mono modes.
- Stereo Mode: Use both left (L) and right (R) earbuds for a full stereo audio experience.
- Mono Mode: Use either the left (L) or right (R) earbud independently for mono audio.
Multi-Point Connection
The earbuds can connect to a maximum of 2 devices simultaneously.
- To switch between devices, tap the earbud once (TAP × 1).
- To initiate pairing for a new device, hold the earbud for 5 seconds (HOLD (5s)).
Controls
The JBL Live Free 2 TWS earbuds feature touch controls on both the left (L) and right (R) earbuds. The functions can be customized via the JBL Headphones App.
Left Earbud Controls:
- ANC (Active Noise Cancelling)*: Tap once to cycle through ANC modes.
- Ambient Aware*: Tap once to cycle through Ambient Aware modes.
- TalkThru*: Tap once to cycle through TalkThru modes.
- Bixby/Siri®/Others: Hold for 2 seconds to activate your voice assistant.
Right Earbud Controls:
- Play/Pause: Tap once.
- Next Track: Tap twice.
- Previous Track: Tap three times.
- Call Answer/End: Tap once.
- Call Reject: Tap twice.
- Mute/Unmute Microphone: Tap once during a call.
- Bixby/Siri®/Others: Hold for 2 seconds to activate your voice assistant.
* Enable advanced controls by connecting your JBL Live Free 2 TWS to the JBL Headphones App.
** Enable your voice assistant through the JBL Headphones App and assign it to your preferred earbud (L/R).
Auto Play/Pause
The earbuds feature an auto play/pause function. When you remove an earbud, playback will pause, and when you put it back in, playback will resume.
This feature can be enabled or disabled via the JBL Headphones App under "Auto Play & Pause" settings.
VoiceAware
VoiceAware allows you to control the amount of your own voice you hear during calls. You can adjust the VoiceAware level (Low, Mid, High) through the JBL Headphones App.
Power Off
To power off the JBL Live Free 2 TWS earbuds, simply place both earbuds back into the charging case and close the lid. The earbuds will automatically power off.
Factory Reset
To perform a factory reset on your JBL Live Free 2 TWS earbuds:
- Place both earbuds in the charging case.
- Open the charging case.
- On either the left or right earbud, tap twice and then hold for 5 seconds (TAP × 2, HOLD (5s)). This will reset the earbuds to their factory settings.
Do More with the App
The JBL Headphones App offers extensive customization and control for your Live Free 2 TWS earbuds:
- Ambient Sound Control: Switch between Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), Ambient Aware (to hear your surroundings), and TalkThru (to lower music volume and amplify voices for conversations). You can also customize ANC levels.
- Voice Assistant: Select and activate your preferred voice assistant (Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or your smartphone's native voice assistant like Bixby). Assign it to either the left or right earbud.
- Customized Gestures: Personalize the tap and hold gestures for various functions.
- Equalizer: Adjust the audio equalizer settings with presets (e.g., Jazz, Vocal, Bass, Studio, Club) or create your own custom sound profile.
Hands-Free Voice Control (Google Assistant)
Get more done on the go by saying "Ok Google" to get started. Examples:
- "Play my Workout playlist"
- "Turn on noise canceling"
- "Turn off ambient mode"
- "What's my schedule today?"
- "Set an alarm for 7 AM"
Note: Only available on Android™.
Hands-Free Voice Control (Alexa Built-in)
Ask Alexa to play music, answer questions, play the news, check the weather, set alarms, control compatible smart home devices, and more. Examples:
- "Alexa, play today's hits"
- "Alexa, volume up."
- "Alexa, skip this song."
- "Alexa, what's the weather?"
- "Alexa, turn off the TV."
- "Alexa, start my commute"
Note: Android™ 6.0 or higher is required for full access to Alexa features when using this device. Alexa isn't available in all locations.
Charging
The JBL Live Free 2 TWS earbuds and charging case can be charged via USB-C cable or a Qi-certified wireless charging pad (not included).

- Quick Charge: 15 minutes of charge provides 4 hours of music playtime.
LED Behaviors
The LED indicators on the charging case and earbuds provide status information:
- Bluetooth Connecting: Blue light blinking.
- Bluetooth Connected: Solid blue light.
- Bluetooth Not Connected: Blue light off.
- Low Battery: Amber light blinking.
- Charging: Solid amber light.
- Fully Charged: Green light.

Important Battery Information
To prolong battery lifespan, fully charge the battery at least once every 3 months. Battery life varies by use and settings.
