Wiring Harness Overview
This document provides a detailed wiring diagram for the 2018 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet (CJ) Battery Cable Assembly, part number M40661-01-1. It illustrates the electrical connections and component routing.
Primary Cable Connections:
- Negative Battery Terminal (- NEG BATT): A black wire connects from the negative battery terminal to a component labeled "DTM06-25 TO MASTER SW". From this point, the harness extends towards the front of the vehicle and terminates at a connection point designated "TO RF CHASSIS GROUND", indicated with a [-] polarity symbol.
- Positive Battery Terminal (+ POS BATT): A red cable originates from the positive battery terminal, passes through a 75A inline fuse, and connects to a component labeled "TO COIL". A second red cable also originates from the positive battery terminal, goes through another 75A inline fuse, and connects to a different "TO COIL" component.
Harness Routing and Distribution Points:
- From the "DTM06-25 TO MASTER SW" junction, the harness branches out via a black wire into multiple orange and red wires.
- Several orange wires are labeled "TO COIL", indicating connections to ignition coils or related electronic systems.
- A red wire extends from the positive battery side, splits into two, and connects to "TO MAIN PDB TERM 1" and "TO MAIN PDB TERM 2". These connections interface with the vehicle's main Power Distribution Box (PDB).
- An additional red cable is depicted, originating from a "TO COIL" point, routed through a 75A inline fuse, and terminating at another "TO COIL" point.
Power Distribution Box (PDB) and Components:
An accompanying image shows a Power Distribution Box (fuse box) containing multiple fuses and relays. Specific components within the PDB are marked with numerical identifiers: '1', '2', and '3'. The PDB is integrated into the vehicle's electrical system via the "TO MAIN PDB TERM 1" and "TO MAIN PDB TERM 2" connections.
Diagrammatic Indicators:
- Directional Label: The text "FRONT OF VEHICLE" is displayed with an arrow pointing forward, indicating the vehicle's orientation.
- Polarity Symbols: [+] and [-] symbols are used to denote positive and negative electrical connections.
