Wiring Diagrams Explained
Double-sided wiring diagram
This diagram illustrates the connection of a Philips LEDtube to a luminaire requiring a double-sided connection. It shows the process of bypassing the traditional starter and ballast, and connecting the LEDtube directly to the mains voltage via a High-Frequency (HF) ballast. The steps involve powering off, removing the old tube, disconnecting the ballast, connecting the LEDtube, ensuring correct seating, and powering on.
Single-sided wiring diagram
This diagram details the installation of a Philips LEDtube in a luminaire where only one side of the tube is connected to the mains voltage. This typically involves bypassing or removing the existing ballast and starter, and connecting the LEDtube directly to the power supply on one end. The steps are similar to the double-sided diagram: power off, remove old tube, disconnect ballast, connect LEDtube, ensure seating, and power on.
Professional Installation Recommended
Philips LED tubes should be installed by qualified professionals in accordance with relevant codes and regulations.
