Nice DOMI Series Transmitters
Instructions and warnings for installation and use.
Product Description and Application
The DOMI series transmitters are designed for the control of automations for external shutters, sun blinds, rolling shutters, or mixed Nice automation sets (scenarios).
ATTENTION! Use other than that specified and in different ambient conditions than those indicated in this notice must be considered improper and strictly forbidden!
List of Product Components
The DOMI series is composed of three families: DOMI W, DOMI P, and MINIDOMI.
- DOMI W family (wall-mounted versions): DOMIW1 (one-button) and DOMIW6 (six-button).
- DOMI P family (portable versions): DOMIP1 (one-button), DOMIP1SV (one-button with "cursor" surface), DOMIP6 (six-button), DOMIP6SV (six-button with "cursor" surface), and DOMIP18V (with display).
- MINIDOMI family: MINIDOMI1 (one-button) and MINIDOMI6 (six-button).
Models with the 'S' designation can manage climatic sensors.
Key:
- A: Status indicator LED.
- B: Command sending buttons (up/open
^
, stop-
, and down/close∨
). - C: Automation status request button.
- D: Group selection buttons (on DOMIW6, DOMIP6, DOMIP6SV, MINIDOMI6).
- E: "Cursor" surface (on DOMIP1SV, DOMIP6SV, DOMIP18V).
- F: Display (on DOMIP18V).
- G: Partial position button (on DOMIP18V).
- H: Group selector (on DOMIP18V).
- P-S: Programming buttons (accessible on the back).
- L-O: Climatic sensor activation/deactivation buttons (on DOMIP1SV and DOMIP6SV).
Using the Buttons
- B (Command Sending): Send commands for opening, stopping, or closing. For multi-button models, select a group first.
- C (Status Request): Press to view the automation's status.
- D (Group Selection): Select the automation(s) to control.
- E ("Cursor" Surface): Touch or slide for simplified command sending.
- L-O (Climatic Sensors): Activate/deactivate climatic sensors.
Memorizing the Transmitter
Refer to the receiver or control unit's instruction manual for memorization procedures. These are also available at www.niceforyou.com.
- Mode 1 Memorization: Memorizes all transmitter buttons at once.
- Memorization via an already memorized transmitter: Allows adding new transmitters using an existing one.
Status Request Procedure
Press the 'i' button to request the automation's status. Observe the LED (A) or group button (B) color for feedback:
- Green: Automation in upper limit position (open).
- Red: Automation in lower limit position (closed).
- Orange: Partial position.
Changing Coding
ATTENTION! Changing the coding resets the transmitter to factory settings.
The transmitters are factory-configured for bidirectional (BD) coding. If your system uses unidirectional (O-Code), follow the procedure to change the coding.
To switch to O-Code: Press PRG, ESC, and ^
simultaneously until the LED (A) or group buttons (B) flash red, then release. A red light indicates O-Code is set.
To switch back to BD: Repeat the procedure. A green light indicates BD is set.
Group Selection Procedure
For models DOMIW6, DOMIP6, DOMIP6SV, MINIDOMI6, and DOMIP18V, a group must be selected before sending commands.
- DOMIW6, DOMIP6, DOMIP6SV, MINIDOMI6: Press a group selection button (A). The corresponding LED stays orange.
- DOMIP18V: Use the selector (H) to choose the group (indicated on display F).
After selecting a group, send the desired command. The group LED will flash orange during transmission and then indicate the result:
- Green: Command received successfully.
- Red: Command not received by at least one automation.
If the command is not received, verify the automation is powered and functioning, and that the group is correctly associated.
Cancellation Procedures
These procedures apply only to transmitters configured in bidirectional mode.
- Total Erasure: Resets the transmitter to factory settings. Follow the procedure in Figure 4 (press PRG, ESC, and
^
). - Group Erasure: For models DOMIW6, DOMIP6, DOMIP6SV, DOMIP18V, MINIDOMI6. Select the group, then press PRG and ESC simultaneously until the group button flashes red.
"Cursor" Surface
The "cursor" surface on DOMIP1SV, DOMIP6SV, and DOMIP18V allows for simplified command sending by touching or sliding.
A prolonged press on the cursor surface puts the transmitter in standby. Press again to reactivate.
Climatic Sensor Activation/Deactivation
On DOMIP1SV and DOMIP6SV models, you can activate or deactivate climatic sensors.
- Deactivate: Press ESC and
-
twice. The LED (A) or group button turns red. - Activate: Press ESC and
^
twice. The LED (A) or group button turns green.
Audible Signal Activation/Deactivation
On DOMIP1, DOMIP1SV, DOMIP6, DOMIP6SV, DOMIP18V, MINIDOMI1, and MINIDOMI6 transmitters, the audible signal (beep) can be deactivated or reactivated.
- Deactivate: Press ESC and
-
twice. - Activate: Press ESC and
^
twice.
Signals
- On Power-Up: The LED (A) or group button (B) flashes green for bidirectional mode, or red for unidirectional mode.
- Anomaly Signals: LED (A) or group buttons (B) flash red for issues like attempting transmission without selecting a group, or pressing PROG/ESC with multiple groups selected.
- Battery Status: LED (A) or group buttons (B) flash orange slowly when the battery is low.
Battery Replacement
Replace the battery when the LED weakens or flashes red during transmission.
- DOMIW1 and DOMIW1: Use a pin to release the battery (Figure 14).
- MINIDOMI1 and MINIDOMI6: Remove the protective cover (A) and replace the battery (Figure 15).
- DOMIP1, DOMIP1SV, DOMIP6, DOMIP6SV, DOMIP18V: Remove the protective cover (A) and replace the battery (Figure 16).
Caution: Pay attention to polarity when inserting the new battery.
Product Disposal
This product is part of an automation system and must be disposed of accordingly. Dismantling should be done by qualified personnel.
Dispose of components according to local regulations. Do not dispose of with household waste. Some components may contain pollutants.
Caution: Illegal disposal may result in severe penalties.
Battery Disposal
Remove batteries before disposal. Dispose of used batteries properly according to local regulations, as they may contain pollutants.
