General Safety Warnings
WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Keep work area clean and well lit. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres. Keep children and bystanders away. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source or battery pack. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. Do not overreach; keep proper footing and balance. Dress properly; do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, and keep hair away from moving parts. Ensure dust extraction facilities are connected and properly used. Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools lead to complacency.
Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug. Do not use adapter plugs with earthed power tools. Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Do not abuse the cord. Use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected supply if operating in a damp location. Use only with specified batteries and chargers.
Personal Safety: Stay alert, use common sense, and do not operate while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. Use personal protective equipment, always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection should be used for appropriate conditions.
Power Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack before making adjustments, changing accessories, or storing. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children. Maintain power tools and accessories; check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Use the power tool, accessories, and tool bits in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions.
Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
Battery Tool Use and Care
Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. Do not use a damaged or modified battery pack or tool. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive temperature. Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or tool outside the specified temperature range.
Impact Wrench Safety Warnings
Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces. Wear ear protectors with impact wrenches. Know your power tool; read the operator's manual carefully. Always wear eye protection with side shields. Protect your lungs with a face or dust mask if the operation is dusty. Protect your hearing with hearing protection, especially during extended periods of operation. Battery tools are always in operating condition; lock the switch when not in use or carrying. Do not place battery tools or batteries near fire or heat. Do not crush, drop, or damage battery pack. Batteries can explode in the presence of a source of ignition. Under extreme usage or temperature conditions, battery leakage may occur.

Operation
WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you careless.
WARNING: Always remove battery pack from the tool when assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use.
WARNING: Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1.
WARNING: Do not use any attachments or accessories not recommended by the manufacturer.
Applications: Driving nuts and bolts using an impact socket.
High Temperature Protection: Li-ion battery packs have a high temperature protection feature that automatically deactivates the tool when overheated. Allow the tool to cool and then squeeze the trigger to resume operation.
Overload Protection: When the tool is forced or the motor is overloaded, it will automatically shut off. Release the trigger to reset. If the tool still does not resume operation, remove and reinsert the battery.
Installing/Removing Belt Hook (Not Included): Align hole in belt hook with hole in housing. Install screw to secure. To uninstall, remove screw then remove belt hook.
Variable Speed Switch Trigger: Depress the switch trigger to turn the tool ON. Release the switch trigger to turn it OFF. A whistling or ringing noise from the switch during use is normal.
Direction of Rotation Selector (Forward/Reverse/Center Lock): Set to OFF (center lock) to lock the switch trigger. Set to the left for forward operation. Set to the right for reverse operation. The tool will not run unless the selector is pushed fully to the left or right.
NOTICE: To prevent gear damage, always allow the anvil to come to a complete stop before changing the direction of rotation.
WARNING: Battery tools are always in operating condition. Lock the switch when not in use or carrying, when installing or removing the battery pack, and when installing or removing sockets.
Installing/Removing Battery Pack: Lock the switch trigger. Insert battery pack into product. Ensure latches snap into place. Depress latches to remove battery pack. Refer to battery pack and charger manuals for charging instructions.
LED Light: The LED light illuminates when the switch trigger is depressed. It fades and shuts off when the tool is not in use. It illuminates only when a charged battery pack is in the tool.
Mode Selector: Press the mode selector to cycle between Low (1), Medium (2), High (3), and Auto Mode (A). Auto Mode offers protection from over-tightening fasteners, reducing damage to fasteners and work surfaces. In Auto Mode, the tool will automatically shut down once it starts impacting (forward) or after impacting has completed (reverse). The range of speeds are listed in the specifications.
NOTICE: Never change modes while the tool is running.
CAUTION: Overtightening fasteners may cause galling or breakage. Choose a mode that stops at half the desired torque application and finish with a torque wrench.
Installing and Removing Sockets: Use only sockets designed for impact wrenches. Select the correct size impact socket. CAUTION: Using the wrong size socket may damage the nut or bolt and cause inaccurate torque.
Remove the battery pack. Push the socket onto the anvil until the friction ring locks it into place. To remove, pull it away from the anvil. Sockets are not included.
Operating the Impact Wrench: Hold the tool with one hand. Depress the switch and fasten for the proper fastening time. Remove the impact wrench. Check torque with a torque wrench.
CAUTION: Metal surfaces may become hot during use.
NOTICE: Do not use this tool to install lug nuts on wheels without a torque limiting device.
NOTICE: After the head of a nut or bolt has seated, additional impacting increases the chance of shearing bolts, nuts, sockets or tearing into wood.
Impact Time: Many variables affect maximum torque, including fastener size and threading, lubrication, material hardness, and environmental conditions.
NOTE: Using a universal joint or extension bar may reduce fastening force and require longer fastening time.
Electric Brake: The electric brake stops socket rotation after the operator releases the switch trigger.
Maintenance
WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts could create a hazard or cause product damage.
General Maintenance: Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
