Notes on Batteries:
- Align batteries correctly according to polarity markings.
- Do not mix new and used batteries.
- The batteries are not rechargeable.
- To prevent damage from potential battery leakage, remove the batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period.
Listening to the Radio
- Turn the Power switch/VOL (volume) control to switch on the power and adjust the volume. To turn off the radio, turn the control down until a click is heard.
- Set the BAND selector to choose either FM or AM.
- Turn the TUNING control to select a station. The TUNE indicator lights up when a station is received.
Listening with Earphones:
Connect optional earphones to the earphone jack. The internal speaker will not produce sound when earphones are connected.
To Improve Reception:
- FM: Extend the telescopic antenna and adjust its angle for the best reception.
- AM: Rotate the unit horizontally for optimum reception. The radio has a built-in ferrite bar antenna.
Precautions
- Operate the unit only on 3V DC power.
- Do not place the unit near heat sources, in direct sunlight, in excessively dusty areas, or subject it to mechanical shock or vibration.
- If the case becomes soiled, clean it with a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution. Never use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents, as they may damage the case.
- Keep magnetic bank cards, magnetic train passes, or other cards with magnetic information away from the speaker. The magnetism inside the speaker may erase information on these cards.
