Assemble the shock bodies. For the front shocks: Insert two X-Rings (91493) into the 13x23mm Shock bodies (91920). Install two 13mm Shock spacers (91996) and two 13mm Shock hat bushings (91996). Install the 13mm Shock cap O-Rings (91996). Lightly rub shock oil on the O-ring before installation. Apply FT Green Slime (#1105) to the O-rings. Install the VCS3 Shock bottom caps (31327). For the rear shocks: Insert two X-Rings (91493) into the 13x27.5mm Shock bodies (91922).

Bag 11 - Step 3

Install shock eyelets and limiters. Lightly rub shock fluid or green slime [Green Slime] on threads. There are 3 lengths of shock eyelets in the kit. Pay attention to length when building as these affect your droop and uptravel. For front shocks: Install two 0mm shock eyelets (92419) with two Shock pivot balls (91819). Use four 4187 Nylon spacers. For rear shocks: Install two 0mm shock eyelets (92419) with two Shock pivot balls (91819). Use two 4187 Nylon spacers. Install the 4187 Shock limiter (front - 2, rear - 1).

Bag 11 - Step 4

Fill and bleed shocks. Shock Fluids: Front Shock: 42.5wt, Rear Shock: 35wt. Shock Bleeding Steps: Before assembly, get each bleed screw and thread it 1-2 turns into the shock cap, then remove the screw. This will make it easier when bleeding your shocks. Pull shock shaft down. Fill shock body 3/4 full with silicone shock fluid [Shock Fluid]. Slowly move the shock shaft up and down to remove air from under the piston. Wait for bubbles to come to surface. Fill shock body to top with silicone shock fluid. Place a drop of oil in the cap and on cap threads. Install cap (without bleed screw) and tighten completely. Slowly compress shaft all the way to bleed excess silicone shock fluid out the hole in the cap (use rag around shock to catch excess fluid). Install M2x4mm button head screw (31510) until snug while shaft is fully compressed. Stroke: Front: 21mm, Rear: 27.5mm.

Bag 11 - Step 5

Install shock springs. Install four 13mm Threaded collar O-rings (91996) into four 13mm Threaded collars (91928). Install the 13mm Front spring, purple (4.60lb) (91946) and the 13mm Rear spring, orange (2.50lb) (91958).

Bag 11 - Step 6

Set spring cup height. Set height after assembly. Use the 13mm Shock spring cups (91966). Front: 5mm cup offset. Rear: 0mm cup offset.

Bag 11 - Step 7

Install shocks. Install two front and two rear shocks. Hold shock mounting hardware until after anti-roll bar installation. Secure shocks using M3x14mm BHCS (25187) and M3 flanged nuts, black (25612).

Bag 12 - Step 1

Attach fan mount. Attach the B84 Fan mount (92505) using two M3x14mm BHCS (25187).

Bag 12 - Step 2

Install fan mount. Attach the B84 Fan mount (92505) using two 3x10mm BHCS (25211).

Bag 12 - Step 3

Mount the motor. Attach the Motor mount slide (92236) to the chassis using two M3x14mm BHCS (25187). Install the Motor (not included) and Pinion (not included) onto the motor mount. Align the motor's solder tabs to the side as shown. Secure the motor with two M3x12mm FHCS (25203). Attach the B84 Fan mount (92505) using two M3x10mm LP SHCS (41090). Apply thread lock [Thread Lock] (#1596) to the set screw (31500).

Bag 12 - Step 4

Attach the battery holder. Attach the B84 Battery holder "4" (92505) to the chassis using two M3x8mm BHCS (31532) and one M3x8mm FHCS (25201).

Bag 12 - Step 5

Secure the battery holder. Attach the B84 Battery holder (92505) to the chassis. Use M3 x 20mm BHCS (25188) for standard height or M3 x 14mm LP BHCS (25187) for low height. Install two Battery holder O-Rings (92463). Secure the Battery (not included).

Bag 12 - Step 6

Install electronics. Mount the Receiver (not included) using servo tape (6727). Mount the ESC (not included).

Bag 212 - Step 7

Attach the wing mount. Attach the B84 Wing nut (92506) and B84 Wing shim (92506).

Bag 212 - Step 8

Mount the body and tires. Attach the B84 Body (92555) and B84 Front nose (92555). Mount the Front tire (not included) and Front tire insert (not included) onto the Front wheel 12mm hex (not included). Mount the Rear tire (not included) and Rear tire insert (not included) onto the Rear wheel 12mm hex (not included). Secure the wheels using four M4 Locknuts (91150). Use two 2.5x6mm BHCS (31520) for the body mount.

Painting, Beginners

Painting: Your Kit requires a clear polycarbonate body. You will need to prep the body before you can paint it. Wash the INSIDE thoroughly with warm water and liquid detergent (do not use any detergents with scents or added hand lotion ingredients!). Dry the body using a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. Use the supplied window masks to cover the windows from the INSIDE of the body (RC bodies get painted on the inside). Using high quality masking tape, apply tape to the inside of the body to create a design. Spray (use either rattle can or airbrush) the paint on the inside of the body (preferably dark colors first, lighter colors last). NOTE: ONLY use paint that is recommended for (polycarbonate) plastics. If you do not, you can destroy the body! After the paint has completely dried (usually after 24 hours), cut the body along the trim lines. Make sure to drill or use a body reamer to make the holes for the antenna if needed! Use hook and loop tape to secure the body to the side rails of the vehicle.

Tips for Beginners: Before making any changes to the standard setup, make sure you can get around the track without crashing. Changes to your vehicle will not be beneficial if you can't stay on the track. Your goal is consistent laps. Once you can get around the track consistently, start tuning your vehicle. Make only ONE adjustment at a time, testing it before making another change. If the result of your adjustment is a faster lap, mark the change on the included setup sheet (make additional copies of the sheet before writing on it). If your adjustment results in a slower lap, revert back to the previous setup and try another change. When you are satisfied with your vehicle, fill in the setup sheet thoroughly and file it away. Use this as a guide for future track days or conditions. Periodically check all moving suspension parts. Suspension components must be kept clean and move freely without binding to prevent poor and/or inconsistent handling.

Tuning Tips - Front Arm Mount Pill Insert Setups

The aluminum front arm mounts utilize eccentric pill inserts to make fine adjustments to kick-up, pin height, and pin width. Adjustments can be made using the supplied inserts (#92014).

Standard Position

Use this position as a reference when changing pill locations.

A Mount / B Mount

Insert Hole Locations: Number indicates degree of change: 0.5°, 1.0°, 0° (center dot). Hole 0.5° or 0.35mm from center. Hole 1.0° or 0.7mm from center.

Pin Width: More distance = wider pivot, Less distance = narrower pivot.

Pin Height: Higher pin = Higher roll center, Lower Pin = Lower roll center.

Kick Up: More angle = More kick up, Less angle = Less kick up.

Total Caster Angle: Total caster angle is the sum of the kick up angle and the caster block angle.
