Features: FR-A806 Inverter for Field Use
The FR-A806 inverter offers a highly protective structure with the IP55 rating, enabling installation near machines.
Inverter for installation outside of the enclosure
- Direct installation near the machine: Compatible with hostile environments (high humidity, dust). Allows installation near machinery or in available spaces, simplifying enclosure design for heat countermeasures and reducing enclosure size.
- Work hour reduction for inverter installation: Eliminates the need for additional enclosures, allowing easy installation. Facilitates installation outside the enclosure during drive system upgrades from commercial power to inverter drive.
- Wire and space saving: Features a built-in DC reactor and EMC filter, reducing wiring for peripheral devices. An optional disconnecting switch is available for remote ON/OFF control.
IP55 Rating Explanation
The IP code indicates specific protection ratings:
- First digit (protection against solid objects): Class 5 (Protection against dust; no ingress of dust that may inhibit normal operation). IP5X means protection when subjected to dust of 75 µm or smaller for 8 hours.
- Second digit (protection against water): Class 5 (Protection against water jets from any direction). IPX5 means protection when subjected to water jets from a nozzle (6.3 mm diameter) from 3 m distance for at least 3 minutes (approx. 12.5 liters of water).
* Water refers to fresh water at room temperature (5 to 35°C). *The FR-A806 is certified IP55 category 1. Indoor installation is recommended, avoiding direct sunlight, rain, etc.
Inverter Components
The FR-A846 inverter features several key components:
- A. Operation panel: Detachable (FR-DU08-01), with an optional LCD panel (FR-LU08-01) available.
- B. Circuit board coating: Conforms to IEC 60721-3-3 3C2/3S2 for enhanced environmental resistance.
- C. Gasket: Provides reliable sealing for IP55 compliance.
- D. Cable connection: Cable glands are available to ensure IP55 rating compliance for cable entries.
- E. EMC filter: Built-in filter for industrial (C3) or residential (C2) environments to reduce electromagnetic noise.
- F. Waterproof fan: IP55 rated cooling fan, detachable without disconnecting main wiring (for specific models).
- G. DC reactor: Built-in, compatible with EN 61000-3-2/12 standards, suppresses harmonics and improves power factor.
- H. Internal air circulation fan: Circulates air within the inverter for cooling.
Application Examples
The inverter is suitable for various applications, even in limited space or hostile environments:
- Waste transfer conveyor: Can be installed directly below, resistant to splashing water and falling debris.
- Building water pumps: Installable in narrow spaces near pumps, suitable for environments with water exposure.
- Marine equipment: Approved by ship classification standards, featuring a built-in EMC filter compliant with these standards.
- Shield machine: Installable near cooling pipes, minimizing cable length and suitable for dusty environments.
Key functions include:
- PLC function: Enables direct input from object sensors for comprehensive control by the inverter.
- PID pre-charge function: Prevents water hammer damage by avoiding rapid acceleration when pipes are empty.
- Real sensorless vector control: Enhances reliability in unfavorable environments by controlling motors without an encoder.
