Domus Line PIR 2.0 Motion Sensor Control Unit
Product Overview and Technical Specifications
Product Description
The PIR 2.0 is a Passive InfraRed (PIR) motion sensor designed for controlling single-colour 24VDC LED luminaires. It offers flexible installation options, being suitable for flush-mounting in a 22mm hole or surface-mounting using an optional spacer. This sensor is particularly recommended for use in enclosed spaces like wardrobes or walk-in wardrobes.
Its automatic operation turns connected luminaires ON instantly and OFF with a delay (approximately 30 seconds) when a door, to which the sensor is attached, is opened and closed, or when user movement is detected within its range. The unit comes with a 2000mm power cable (Micro24 male connector), a 2000mm output cable (Micro24 female connector), and a distributor with 10 Micro24 female slots. For controlling 12VDC LED luminaires (up to 36W), an adapter cable set is available to configure the system with the Micro12 connection standard. A power supply unit is not included and must be ordered separately.

Operation and Features
Passive infrared (PIR) sensors operate by detecting temperature changes, such as those caused by human movement within their detection range. This differs from active sensors, which measure infrared light reflection.
The PIR 2.0 sensor features a Fresnel lens made of thermoplastic material. This lens, with its grooved surface, is designed to collect light and expand the field of view, allowing for precise definition of the monitored area, detection angles, and distances.
The sensor functions in an ON-Off mode, providing immediate switch-on and delayed switch-off. When a door is opened, or when temperature changes coupled with user movement are detected (if the sensor is in plain view), the connected luminaires illuminate instantly at full brightness. Switch-off is managed via a soft-off sequence, involving a fade-out of approximately 1.5 seconds, occurring about 30 seconds after the door is closed or if no movement is detected within the range. This delay mechanism prevents abrupt light changes and ensures automatic shutdown even if the door remains open but no presence is detected.
Installation Guidelines
The PIR 2.0 sensor has a detection range shaped like a cone with an opening angle of approximately 80 degrees. The sensor's sensitivity and performance can be affected by installations that restrict this detection range.
For optimal performance, it is recommended to install the sensor at a distance of 10cm or less from the door and at a height of approximately 200cm to 220cm (maximum). Under these conditions, the sensor can detect the movement of a person (160-180cm tall) up to 100cm away along an axis perpendicular to the mounting surface, and up to approximately 160cm along an axis parallel to the mounting surface.
Important Positioning Advice: To ensure accurate operation and prevent false triggers, the PIR 2.0 sensor should be installed away from heat sources or objects that can cause temperature fluctuations. This includes avoiding direct exposure to air flows from air conditioning systems, projectors, or other light sources that might generate misleading radiation variations.

Page 2 Top View Diagram: This diagram illustrates the sensor's detection pattern. It shows a cone with an 80-degree opening angle. The recommended installation height is around 220cm, with the sensor positioned a maximum of 10cm from the door. Detection distances are marked: 100cm perpendicular to the surface and 160cm parallel to the surface.
