Safety Precautions

DANGER: Indicates an imminently hazardous situation that, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.

WARNING: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, could result in serious injury or death.

CAUTION: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury.

IMPORTANT: Indicates information about procedures that, if not observed, could result in damage to equipment or corruption to and loss of data.

Always read and understand the manual before operating or working on the equipment. Failure to follow instructions may lead to injury or death. Ensure the unit is disconnected from the main power before performing any work.

Installation Guidelines

Install the instrument and platform on a stable, vibration-free, level surface. Ensure the location is dust-free, free of strong breezes or vapors, and within a moderate temperature and humidity range (59-86°F and 40-70%).

Use waterproof conduit and couplings for load cell cables and consider a waterproof junction box for connections. Avoid welding with load cells installed.

When installing multiple units, maintain adequate spacing for ventilation. Follow electrical precautionary measures, including maintaining main power supply within ±10% of rated voltage and observing electrical best practices.

Refer to Section 2.3 for maximum cable lengths for load cell, RS-232, RS-485, and analog output cables.

Operation and Setup

The manual details basic operation, including turning the instrument on/off, zeroing, and taring. It also covers advanced functions such as multi-range operation, display configuration, and selecting operating modes like conversion and alibi memory.

Setup Mode allows for navigation through various parameters, including factory calibration, theoretical calibration, analog output settings, input/output functions, and fieldbus parameters. The Configuration Menu provides access to filter parameters.

Calibration and Communications

The Calibration section covers calibration menus, parameters, procedures, setting local gravity, and zero dead load A/D counts.

The Communications section details serial outputs, serial port transmission modes (PC Port, PRN PORT), serial command formats, and transmission protocols (Standard String, Extended String, Secondary Mode Strings).

Troubleshooting and Compliance

The manual includes a Troubleshooting section to assist with common issues and a Compliance section addressing regulatory standards.

Detailed specifications, including radio certificate numbers, are provided in Section 9.0.
