Approvals
- Tested with matching air conditioners and heat pump units in accordance with AHRI Standard 210/240-2023.
- AHRI Certified system match-ups and expanded ratings available at AHRIDirectory.org.
- Air resistance tests conducted in an air test chamber.
Applications
- Suitable for 1.5 to 5 ton nominal sizes.
- Horizontal indoor coils designed for easy installation with most branded horizontal furnaces.
- Factory installed R-454B check/expansion valve.
Coil Construction
Total Corrosion Technology Designed Coil
- Aluminum tubing, hairpins, distributor, and header tubes.
- Copper refrigerant sweat connections on both liquid and suction lines for easy brazing.
- Ripple-edged aluminum fins for enhanced heat transfer.
- Lanced fins maximize exposure of fin surface to air stream.
- Axial grooved tubing for superior heat transfer.
- Twin coil construction assembled in an "A" configuration for large surface area.
- High pressure testing ensures leak-proof construction.
Refrigerant Line Connections
- Copper refrigerant sweat connections on both liquid and suction lines.
- Lines extend outside the cabinet for convenient connection.
- Refer to dimension drawings for specific locations.
Braze-Free/Press Fitting Flexibility
- Units accommodate braze-free or press fittings for versatile installation.
Anti-Microbial Drain Pans
- Non-corrosive, UV-resistant polymer drain pan with dual FPT drain connections.
- Anti-Microbial additive inhibits mold and mildew growth, improving indoor air quality and reducing drain line blockage.
R-454B Check/Expansion Valve
- All models feature a factory-installed internal check/expansion valve.
- Designed for use with R-454B refrigerant systems.
- Features a wide range valve with a Chatleff style fitting.
- Expansion valves are externally-equalized, non-bleed port type.
Low GWP Refrigerant Detection System
The system consists of an RDS detection sensor on the coil and an RDS control in the furnace.
- Furnaces with a factory installed RDS control: The RDS control is integral to the furnace ignition control board.
- Furnaces without a RDS control: The Refrigerant Detection System (RDS) Blower Control Board is required and must be ordered separately for field installation.
Refrigerant Detection System (RDS) Coil Sensor
- Factory installed on all indoor coils.
- Complies with UL 60335-2-40 approved standard.
- Required for all systems using R-454B refrigerant.
- Ensures safe operation for systems equipped with R-454B refrigerant.
- Indoor sensor detects any R-454B refrigerant.
Optional Accessories
Refrigerant Detection System (RDS) Blower Control Board
Note: For furnaces manufactured without the RDS Blower Control Board. Connects to the RDS sensor furnished with the coil.
Non-Communicating Blower Control Board
Non-Communicating Blower Control Board and Sensor can be used with any non-communicating 24 volt furnace.
Standard Features (RDS System)
- Connects to the RDS sensor furnished with the coil.
- Supports up to two RDS Sensors (factory setting).
- Acts as an interface between the indoor unit and thermostat to control the system.
- Ensures safe operation for systems equipped with R-454B refrigerant.
- If R-454B refrigerant is detected, the system prevents compressor and heating operation until the refrigerant is no longer detected.
- The system also energizes the blower to dissipate any concentrations of refrigerant from the conditioned space.
- Multi-color LED for system status and troubleshooting aid.
- Flashing LED codes indicate system status (Green/Blue) and diagnose sensor errors (Red).
- Alarm relay can trigger an external alarm if R-454B refrigerant is detected.
- Zone relay opens all zone dampers (if part of a zoning system) if R-454B refrigerant is detected.
- Power is disabled to non-communicating thermostats to prevent demand if R-454B refrigerant is detected.
- On system start-up, the blower runs for five minutes, and any thermostat demands are disabled.
- Dimensions (H x W x D): 7-7/16 x 7-7/16 x 2-1/2 inches (189 x 189 x 127 mm).
Note: Refer to the Installation Instructions for additional information.
Cabinet
- Pre-painted cabinet finish.
- Insulated with thick fiberglass insulation.
- Coil slides out of the cabinet for ease of servicing.
- Flanges provided in the outlet for ease of duct connection.
- Removable panels provide access to the coil.
- Refrigerant lines extend outside the cabinet for easy installation.
Furnace Match-Up
- Coils exactly match corresponding furnaces with the same letter designation in the model number.
- No adapter is required.
- Engaging holes are furnished on the cabinet for alignment with the furnace.
