Control Panel Overview
The Whirlpool dryer control panel features a central cycle knob, various buttons for modifiers, and indicator lights. The main sections include:

Operating Steps
- CLEAN LINT SCREEN: Ensure the lint screen is clean before each use.
- LOAD CLOTHES: Place clothes loosely into the dryer drum.
- PRESS POWER BUTTON: Press the power button to turn on the dryer.
- SELECT THE DESIRED CYCLE FOR YOUR LOAD: Turn the cycle knob to choose from options like NORMAL, MORE DRY, LESS DRY, HEAVY DUTY, DELICATES, AIR ONLY, TIMED DRY, QUICK DRY, BULKY ITEMS, TOWELS, WRINKLE CONTROL, and STEAM REFRESH.
*Not all cycles, settings or options are available with all models.
- ADJUST CYCLE SETTINGS AND OPTIONS, IF DESIRED: Modify temperature (High, Med, Low, Ex Low) and time (90, 60, 30, 15 Min) or select options like Static Reduce or Wrinkle Shield.
- PRESS, HOLD, AND RELEASE START BUTTON: Press and hold the Start button for 1 second until all status lights are illuminated, then release to start the cycle.
Choosing the Right Cycle
A cycle guide for your dryer can be found online at www.whirlpool.com. This document helps identify which cycle to choose for various load types as well as the default cycle options. For example, Whirlpool recommends using the NORMAL cycle with Medium temperature for cottons, linens, and mixed-garment loads.
Specialty Cycles:
- WRINKLE CONTROL: This cycle is designed to help remove or reduce wrinkles, ideal for permanent press clothing. It uses low heat and a cool-down period to prevent wrinkling or creasing.
- STEAM REFRESH: Best for reducing wrinkles and odors from dry items. This cycle is great to refresh a wrinkled garment or when a load was left in the dryer too long.
